Rosinante and Law’s relationship is one of the most tragic and heartwarming bonds in One Piece. It’s a connection built not on blood, but on salvation. When Law was at his lowest - traumatized, terminally ill, and consumed by hatred - Rosinante became the light in his darkness. Unlike everyone else who looked at Law and saw either a walking death sentence or a ticking time bomb, Rosinante saw a child who still deserved a future. He didn’t just give Law hope; he gave him time, literally, by sacrificing everything to save him from Doflamingo’s grip and trying to cure him. What makes their bond so powerful is that Rosinante was everything Doflamingo wasn’t: selfless, kind, and deeply human. He became the parental figure Law was missing, and in return, Law became the reason Rosinante found meaning in his own cursed life.

After this backstory you will probably have your full opinion on doflamingo and who he is as a person. I don’t really find him that interesting of a villain or a person. After this arc I don’t really care about him. I think you will find the villains in the later arcs a lot more interesting like I do

Absolutely, Fold! I’ve always said that Doflamingo is one of the most complex characters in One Piece, and that’s what makes him so compelling. Real people are complex, and Doflamingo reflects that truth disturbingly well. We've seen many antagonists with tragic backstories (like Arlong) whose pasts explain, though never justify, their warped worldviews. But Doflamingo stands apart. His character has been constructed with an almost surgical precision. What makes him so chilling is that he was evil before the trauma. You can't chalk it all up to his being a Celestial Dragon, because his family, especially his brother Rosinante and even his father Homing, were proof that kindness and compassion were possible within that same background. At his core, Doflamingo was already cruel and remorseless, even as a child. But after losing his status and enduring the horrors that followed, he didn't just remain evil - he evolved into something far worse. And that’s where Oda’s writing gets particularly dark. The very hatred and violence that shaped Doflamingo’s descent into monstrosity were the same emotions reflected in the furious mob that tried to destroy his family. The so-called "good guys" showed just as much brutality. It’s a vicious cycle - one that makes Doflamingo both a monster and a mirror. That duality is what makes him unforgettable.

Waiting until Thursday is gonna be tough! The backstories of Doflamingo & Law is incredible storytelling. Putting them together to create polarizing tragedies, both originating in hate, is brilliant of Oda! *chef’s kiss*

A large part of why I like Doflamingo is that I believe his story. When I say that, I mean that I understand and believe why Doflamingo turned out the way he did. While I don't agree with his choices, I believe such a life could create such a character. I don't think there is another character good or bad that I believe that their back story or life would lead them to be the person they are portrayed to be in fiction. I am not saying approve of the things he does, but I think he is the most believable character I have ever seen. I like Doflamingo so much because I could believe that this was the story of a real person and I find him so interesting because of that. Doflamingo is "The Bad Guy" to me and I think a good bad guy is more important than the MC most of the time. I mean most of the time when a super villain monologues about their plan and doesn't just end the hero, I don't believe it. But with Doflamingo I see the game to hunt the star bounties as his way to regain control of the situation. After what we saw of Doflamingo's life where all control has been taken from him since he was young, you can understand why he wants to be in control. So, the game and chaos are believable to me. You don't blame it simply on him being insane like you would with Batman's Joker. I see it as that little boy chained to the wall trying control his life. So Doflamingo can do the most unhinged things, and I don't see him as being as insane or lacking control of his emotions. I see him as a person with supreme control of himself and those around himself and I fear a person with control over himself more than a person that is controlled by his emotions. Doflamingo has his rage, and is haunted by it, but he is not controlled by it. Everything he does is by his intentional choice and to a purpose, to regain control. Doflamingo is a patient villain capable of not just destruction but also building something. While Doflamingo says he wants to destroy everything, I think is referring to everything that the Celestial Dragons control not the world itself. If there was no world he would have nothing to control. That went longer than I meant, and I could still go on, but the main point is the Super Villian, and I believe his Origin story. The bad guy makes the story and the good guy.
