Development Post - 033

We're here on the second week of my favorite month. Known as the month of scares and free candy, everyone is surely in for some surprises. I'm hoping to be giving some of my own. ;)

I have very little doubt that October is the month for this Chapter. My previous assumption for a September release date was very clouded and honestly, pretty embarrassing. But all I can do is continue with the game and release it when I feel all the content is ready.

So far this Chapter has taken me 7 months to complete. I'd like to reduce that to about 3 months per chapter at most, which will hopefully be something we can do after release. To be fair though, we have a lot done and I've only put about 150 hours of work total into this project. Sounds like a lot, I know, but considering each of my livestreams were about 5 hours long, it's not outrageous.

What do I have to show this week? Well, sadly, this post will be more like a "proof of existence" post. I'm not really sure how to get out of this whole "explain without spoilers" thing. I've been working full time for the past couple weeks and plan to continue. If worse comes to worst, I'll try out commissions/sketches while I work so I can at least make ends meet, because it's not fair that this is taking half a year. And I'm not trying to look selfless by saying these things, I genuinely don't want you guys to get used to a long development period.

So what is the picture you see before you? That would be the Valley of Peace map. You guys already know I'm jackshit at making backgrounds, but for the most part, it's accurate to the placement of the actual homes.

What's with the top part of the pic? That is your navigation. The home button will take you back home (Jade Palace or Wu Fortress), there's a slot for how much money/yuan you have, and the heart button shows your sluts' corruption as well as the current objective. I left some space in case I want to add a button for something else later on. You might also know I only have the Market and Fighting available. Currently, there is no reason to go anywhere else. The MC doesn't know anyone, so a shop is all he really needs. The Noodle Shop will probably be added in Chapter 3, I just need to add a situation where Po mentions that his dad works there and that the food is amazing.

I know this is another short post, but there's only so many times I can say "Can't show much, spoilers, blah blah blah". As always, questions are best for the Discord. I always answer.
