Excited!! For Treasure, I’m glad you pointed out the “Say My Name” slide… I never noticed it. Anyway, your reaction is great to watch and I look forward to hearing your thoughts as you go through their dance practices and watch their growth.

I know you posted this a few days ago and maybe there’s some chat elsewhere but in case there isn’t and in answer to your questions: yes, crazy hat is San! Purple hair man is Mingi - maybe he’s been pointed out in other videos but he tends to be an easy member to identify as he’s their deep voice rapper (he’s the one with the mic prop in Crazy Form). ETA because I hit enter too early: I wish I could tell you who their various choreographers are but I’ve never figured out a good place to consistently find that information. Your google fu is no doubt better than mine on that. I’ve seen a lot of fans assume that BBT do it themselves but I get the impression that other choreographers are almost always involved.

I am a much older fan to be fair (mid 30s) and I really like to consume my media analytically and really break down why things hit so well for me. There are a lot more of us out there, but certain fan spaces have different cultures and tones for sure. You will get a very different discourse on twitter than you would reddit or instagram or tiktok or whatever and for every one of those each fandom has it's own tone and culture as well. It's kind of a fascinating social science experiment lol. In general though I think it's really important to curate your fan experience by blocking accounts that tends toward criticism and following more open minded fan accounts. My twitter feed is pretty much all hag multi stans and it really makes for a much better consumer experience to be able to talk about ALL of the good music and performances.lol

I didn't feel super strongly about it until Anze discussed it and he put out his kind of non-apology because I think unintentional copying happens in art but I would have liked at least a positive spotlight shown on the original choreo and choreographer by Vata if nothing else because as a creative I'm sure he's been on the other end of something like this. Shit happens but when someone feels harmed or victimized I think it is the compassionate thing to do to try to mitigate it as much as possible. I stay away from a lot of ATINY fan spaces though because they can get messier than i prefer to be a part of lol.

Because as you noticed as I did, that front glide has been used in ATEEZ Choreo from treasure…. Not just say my name.. which also means if Josh Smith and Anze were not a part of this Choreo team, then they may have done the same thing Vata did, but to ATEEZ themselves. I think he only choreographed Say My Name, Illusion and Wave from the next mini album and then Wonderland from the first studio album. His original choreography demos are on his youtube channel.

2023-12-07 06:04:09 +0000 UTCI mentioned that this and pirate king were like co-title tracks, but to this day Treasure always feels like the b-side to Pirate King because Pirate King is so core to their lore AND feels much more ATEEZ (as the brand has developed). This is so mellow comparative to it and their general sound scape they tend to use for their titles. Hope you will watch pirate king then check out crazy form (hopefully the dance practice will be out soon)
