2023-12-21 23:02:55 +0000 UTCOne thing I've always appreciated about Ateez is they are NOT afraid to commit to what would be seen as stereotypical feminine/sensual dance moves the way I feel like a lot of male idols can be. Deja Vu is going to be a trip! It all boils down to if there are things to be grabbed and body rolls to be done, they are whole ass doing it lol. Inception has a really cool theatrical concert version where they change up the intro a lot that I've always really loved.

2023-12-20 16:29:05 +0000 UTCI'm getting curious to see which Halazia dance practice you'll be checking out. There is one on their channel that includes a short intro for stages (not really any dancing in it, it just sets up the mood/concept) and one that doesn't!

2023-12-20 08:15:11 +0000 UTCI believe ATEEZ were all 18-20 when they debuted and they have definitely never been shy when performing lol. They aren't afraid to be super expressive or more provocative than other idols might be on stage. Watching other idols react to their performances usually consists of respect for how they maintain their energy as well as shock at their hip thrusts and body rolls/ being shirtless on stage lmao. An example of this that I really appreciate is their commitment to very sensual, smooth body rolls in Deja Vu. I feel like there are times where male idols are afraid or just don't want to do body rolls that may seem too "feminine", but ATEEZ completely go for it and it makes their moves so beautiful to watch. In regards to the part near the end of the choreo where San falls to the side, he actually talked about how he made that decision based on the lyrics of the song to basically show desperation and loss. He has also said that he created his own facial choreographies for each song to more accurately represent the attitude or lyrics of the song which I thought was really cool.

2023-12-20 06:50:47 +0000 UTCOk NICE! they do have a weird amount of bside tracks with performances that they do often but don't really have dance practices of. Thankfully they perform a lot so there are often fancams and honestly sometimes their energy in live performances is even more immense than normal. This era IS well into the BB Trippin era. BBtrippin has a playlist of all of the choreos for ateez on their youtube channel if you need it. still working my way through the analysis now but had to comment before I forgot bc adhd: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnFlX1WjOXaxoC2rEOdieoeF_BiIHEA5c&si=cesLRts6bkTBvPQi This song and THANXX were up for a vote for title. I liked both and like seeing a concept like inception on them but I much preferred THANXX's choreo so looking forward to that reaction! Inception ended up being the title song, but if there hadn't been some problematic styling decisions for THANXX I think it would have been the title but ATINY didn't want the title to be promoted with the styling as it was and potentially cause harm (cultural appropriation of hair styles on a member was the issue). I actually got cursed out on facebook by a korean fan this era who assumed I couldn't understand korean because of this it was kind of hilarious.
