[BOYS PLANET] EPISODE 7 FULL

[BOYS PLANET] EPISODE 7 FULL

Comments

You know during the feel special performance, with the whole dorm room talk of Shuaibo about production helping them out and you thought since the mentor Lee seok hoon said those lines during rehearsal it's too easy for Mnet to pass up on the oppurtunity. I always used to think, how did his words fit the situation so perfectly, did production already tell him what Shuaibo said in the dorm and that's why he framed his advice and questions in that manner or else how did his words match so perfectly with the situation? it was too neat.

Pratiksha Majee

I hope they regretted thinking that after watching the episode. He was put in a situation where he had to sing the whole chorus twice. Not his fault. It's one thing to vote for our favorite regardless and of course they didn't know the behind the scenes of it but to think someone is stealing lines without actual proof and not voting for them when they clearly did really good in the performance is just wrong.

Pratiksha Majee

Agreed!!!

Jessica Holyfield

Park Hanbin's leadership quality took my heart. He is strict but not harsh. He was a really good leader!

Pratiksha Majee

haha an entire fleet it sounds like

Jessica Holyfield

Ah, Tomboy. The performance (and Behind the Scenes) that sailed a million ships lolol

Lauren Freeman

I can't wait for your reaction to the upcoming songs; these are some of the best survival songs, especially "over me"

odania innocent

the behind the scenes of butterfly is probably my favorite, it's nice to see the masters give constructive feedback and just laugh with the trainees when they mess up instead of scold them. also rui being too sexy for the song is so funny LOL i love him junseo breaks my heart though :( it's so sad to see his anxiety get the better of him, i've been there... i'm glad he had supportive teammates though

oddinry

I'll try to watch the stages and give them some love!

Jessica Holyfield

Gotcha! Thank you for the heads up! LOTS of fun it sounds like!

Jessica Holyfield

Thank you for providing your perspective here! This was such an interesting episode and I'm glad to finally be on the same page as everyone with the Woongki/Shuaibo situation! Looking forward to the next episode and what's to come with the fun areas!

Jessica Holyfield

I will try to see if I can give some of those a watch!

Jessica Holyfield

You pretty much know about it by now that there's a lot of unaired content of this show that are just posted on mnet's official youtube account, including most of the sports day stuff that were shown in the preview for the next episode. I really hope you get to see them because there's a lot of fun moments to miss out on.

I saw someone reviewing the Feel Special performance, and they said it could be that people in the audience could have thought Woongki was 'stealing' parts and 'because he has been an idol he claimed the most lines'. so it could be, with him singing so much people were actually put off.

48:57 So Ma Jing Xiang (the tall guy in white whos beefing with everyone), supposedly it was mentioned during the live taping that he was sick and hospitalized at some point during this round (idk if thats actually true) so that may be why he keep feeling like there wasn't enough time. But I also think Xiang himself is anxious about the time they have to perfect a performance so he's constantly worried about running out of time even when they're not, which is why he keep straying from the group to practice on his own and constantly not wanting to sit down and talk and just keep working. Meanwhile Ricky is probably someone how picks up on choreo quicker which is why he wasn't too worried and said they still had plenty of time. Idk how to explain it, but the look on Xiang's face when they were arguing, he just looked exhausted and not well. I believe after Boys Planet he mentioned he was giving up on the idol path due to health issues, but then Project 7 came around and he decided to give it another shot. He was a different person on Project 7. He still constantly worried about not having enough time and Project 7 literally played the same clip of him arguing with Ricky and Seungmin even though the show was airing on a different broadcast station. But he was definitely more of a team player and didn't just practice on his own and was seen helping others out. I just remember a lot of people started watching Project 7 disliking him the same way a lot of people saw Shauibo on universe league and was like "ugh why is HE here??" but then saw how differently he was portrayed and grew to like them.

Secretninja312 (Tina)

I keep thinking of how different Ma Jingxiang is here vs Project 7. Like here, it seems like Ma Jingxiang is only looking out for himself and isn't being a team player. But then on Project 7, during one of the missions, his team's leader and another guy stepped out to have a long discussion and while the rest of the team waiting, Xiang was the one to took initiative to gather everyone to continue practicing.

For your information, Boys Planet closes its vote the morning after each competition airs its second episode and begins filming the elimination that afternoon. Unless it was a evil edit, the trainees whose stage is aired in the second episode are at a disadvantage of increasing the number of votes, so the production team seems to have tried to narrow the gap by showing all the teams first. +I hope when you watch the M Countdown advance stage like the last backdoor K team and if you have time to spare, watch the video with the lyrics of the limousine. The lyrics of the three are so beautiful... You can search it on YouTube and see it.

As for the audience vote for 'feel special', I can tell you that your guess is quite right. First of all, Shuaibo's face expression of disagreement with Christian's evil editing situation in the previous contest, Backdoor G Group, was gaining attention along with his visuals, and his popularity in Korea was rapidly increasing. Therefore, it seems that the disappointment of those who saw that there were few parts in a state of high favorability for Shuaibo has been reversed by their antipathy to Woonggi who has so many parts. In fact, before the episode aired, there were often fans who listened to the reviews of those in the field and disparaged Woonggi as greedy (Ironically, after the episode aired, criticism poured in more strongly because of their words and actions).

rum

Ah I saw it uploaded yesterday, but it was already late, so I kept it for this morning x) So, first of all, so glad you change the website for watching, because let's say it clearly, the subbing for last episode was lazy, like really lazy x) They didn't even tried ^^' Now for this episode, and finally the "Feel Special" team, like you said the audience doesn't have the behind the scenes footage that we have so obviously I won't be mad at them about not knowing how much Woongki carried the team behind the scenes. Like dude was seriously main vocal, main dancer, killing part and leader. I've never seen anyone taking all the main positions in a team like that (and doing amazing with it). On the other hand, just seeing (and hearing) the performance should have been enough to vote for Woongki, for me. He was the ONLY one that sounded good, danced well, was expressive and didn't felt awkward at any moment. But, as we know (I mean, you saw UL) visual is the most important factor for live audience that vote for k-pop survival show (I've seen it happen too many times by now). And Shuaibo was getting popular in Korea for his looks around that time. Also I often heard from people that attend these shows, that most of the time the sound isn't very good/clear and the cheers are very loud so it's often hard to hear clearly the trainees vocals. So I guess it's another reason why the votes are more visual based (looks or dance or charisma) than about vocals for the majority of survivals. That's why I wish the ranking that gets them the benefit would come from the masters. Like, the overall ranking during evaluations already depends 100% on fan-vote. So to also decide who gets the benefits with fan-vote makes it useless as it's the trainees that are the most popular that will get it (= the ones that don't really need it anyways). Also about Mnet and evil editing, I think the discussion around it often lacks nuances. Obviously they are always trying to push a narrative, and if there anything happening, even a tiny thing they will amplify it to create that drama that will give them engagement. And they're choosing the trainees they're showing in a bad light, depending on who they want in the final line-up. I do have a serious issue with the fact that it's almost always the foreign trainees, and more specifically the Chinese ones that they are showing like this. But they still need some footage to "create" that drama so even if it's not that big of a deal in the first place, and Mnet just made it look worst or bigger than what it was doesn't mean it didn't happen either or the trainee couldn't be the one in the wrong for that case. Because we really don't know the full story, and most likely will never know, I keep a pretty neutral position on most of those dramas. I don't forget that the trainees are human, also young and in a very stressful environment so they can make mistakes, or have a bad attitude. The most important to me is how they grow from it, if they learn from their mistakes, and how much their attitude seem to have impacted the rest of the team and the final performance. And also one thing I've learned to do with this shows is really watching the reactions/interactions from/with the other trainees. It's often the best way to have a general idea of how the vibe really is, and I mean they are aware of what really happened so it's says a lot for me. What you said, when they announced Shuaibo first, about the "dorm talk" is exactly that. Watching the different reactions the trainees had when seeing for example Jongwoo ranking first in Home and they were all chanting his name in comparison of how they reacted to Shuaibo ranking first says a lot to me about how they felt. And the fact that Shuaibo probably didn't pulled his weight during the week. I'm just glad that Shuaibo seems to have learned about this experience and still tried again with UL. And Woongki and him seem to be doing just fine there so I'm happy for both of them. Alright that was already a long talk about that one team x) But especially as someone who saw UL first, it was really interesting to see your point of view on all of that. Overall this episode is one of my favorite I think, between the great performances, and some really nice and wholesome behind the scenes for most of the teams, plus bonus Mnet finally showing Hanbin and Hao friendship, even though I still wish they gave Gunwook and Hui at least a tiny bit of screentime x) At least Gunwook, maybe just to mention that he was actually ranked first from the masters during the interim eval (we saw it really quickly when they showed Man in Love being last) could have been nice but anyways it was great to see two guys in competition genuinely supporting each other. Next episode will be fun (I mean not the elimination part in itself obviously) but for you to see if your guesses from last episode are true. And good news they didn't clickbait us, you'll be able to see some of this fun footage of their sports day ^^ Thank you again for the reaction and have a great day ! :D

I‘m so happy that the two people (Ma Jingxiang, Shuaibo) who suffered the most after the episode aired, had the courage to chase after their dreams in other shows. Xiang actually finished first in Project 7, so you have seen quite a few performances from him already. They both clearly learned from their experiences on boysplanet, are now better at communicating their needs and became better teamplayer.

daze_daisy

That's going to be really fun! Thank you for watching alongside me!

Jessica Holyfield

next episode you're gonna see into which original song the boys were voted in. some of the choices might be surprising so in case nobody told you, you should maybe know that they all filmed a little pr video promoting the assignment of their choice! that's why some song assignments might not quite fit what you expect from their image, since the fans mostly voted for what the contestants themselves wanted~ also this was a fun reaction as always 🫡

Marie LB

The upcoming one 😅

Secretninja312 (Tina)

Oh that's fun! and are you talking about this round we just had, or the upcoming round for the dance practices?

Jessica Holyfield

Just a heads up for the next episode, they do start practicing for the next round’s stage before they do eliminations. But don’t watch any of the performances yet since the teams do get reshuffled in episode 9. Also great news, this rounds performance has dance practices! Also Animal version here they dance in anime onesies, and a 1.5x version where they speed the song up 1.5x and dance to it.

Secretninja312 (Tina)

This episode just gave us so much roller coasters of emotions and it was hella painful to see the hard times some of these guys were going through and its just so easy to get immersed in the “story” that is portrayed to us by MNET. I’m glad to see you break down what may be going through the guys’ minds and why they may have said or acted in certain ways. Yes not everything they do or say is ideal or correct but with the way you explained things, it does hep validate their feelings and actions and it helps us see these same situations from a completely different angle. Anyways, here’s my long rambling thoughts of various groups: I’m so happy Yujin got a complement from Bak kooyoung, because I feel like his words were eating away at him since the first competition round. Also Park Hanbin is just amazing, great performer and great at whipping his team in to shape. Mingyu is such a treat to watch. He is that guy who’s not afraid to just go for it and willing to try whatever is thrown at him. And so see him so happy while performing this song is everything. Him and Doha (the houses) are those guys you can’t help but root for and enjoy because they are both aware they’re lacking in a lot of aspects but don’t shy away and continuously put in the work. And we get to see them grow on screen. Both Rush Hour and Feel Special teams were just so hard to watch. I tend to speed through it evertime I get to this episode because it’s uncomfortable to see the guys having a hard time communicating and having a camera shoved in their faces recording it all. But like I said earlier, I love how you broke it down and essentially validated their feelings. Sidenote: Seungmin was in TO1 with Woongki. That was the group he mentioned leaving. I believe both him and Woongki left around the same time. Feel Special team drama I think was a bigger mess for the fans than it was for the guys on the show. Shauibo got so so much hate for it. People ripped him apart for what he said behind the scenes, for his comment after he won the round, etc. People thought Woongki probably hates him or them two don’t get along etc. But as we saw on Universe League, they clearly didn’t have any issues with each other. For Butterfly, It was cute to see how the team pulled together to encourage Junseo and hold him up because he’s still young and new to training and took a hit on his confidence). I also really liked how Yunseo asked him after the performance being like “Did you enjoy the stage? Was it fun?” I thought it was a nice way to help Junseo redirect his disappointment of his performance to thinking about the positives, like how it felt to be on stage. Tomboy was definitely the performance of the night. It also sailed the HaoBin ship. Seriously their friendship is so precious. And like you said, they’re both similar in their position on this show, both being the centers, high ranking, and the trainees that majority of the guys look up to and lean on. they’re both under a lot of pressure and understand each other’s feeling. So it’s nice that they both have each other to lean on. Can’t wait for the next episode! They do pack in a lot of stuff for an elimination episode.

Secretninja312 (Tina)

fun fact, this is the only episode i watched when it was airing live and it actually upset me so much that i didn't tune in again until over a year later! cha woongki was the only person i knew in the show (besides hui) and i was SO upset with how feel special went that i didn't stop to think about how they might be editing it weird or unfairly. i am still upset that woongki didn't take first place in this because i did feel he carried it and deserved first place!

hannahkinskywalker

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! The fun in watching UL before is very fun knowing that both the guys here that had issues ended up in the same group haha ♥️✨ excited for the upcoming episodes!

Jessica Holyfield

Ahh I was wondering about your view of this episode since this episode kind of destroys Shuai Bo's reputation for the remainder of time that he's on the show after this edit. I didn't watch Universe League so seeing someone who watched that first before this is super interesting. Fun fact, Ricky/Ma Jing Xiang's argument/evil edit/whatever didn't REALLY affect Ricky all that much. A lot of the Korean comments were something like 'omg they're so hot when they're angry LOL' since both Ricky and Ma Jing Xiang fit very perfectly into Korean beauty standards. In fact, it was around this time that Ricky started to get a LOT more attention in Korea for his visuals and his handling of this situation, as he was always popular internationally and fairly popular in Korea as well. My fave performance is prolly Limousine, despite the mess-up in the beginning. The emotion that went into their performance was SO good, and when you read their lyrics it only enhances their performance. Jihoo talking about being edited out of ep 1/2 despite being all-star, Krystian talking about the hate he got from Back Door, and Anthonny talking about the struggles of being a fairly famous foreigner on the show who got ZERO screen time (Anthonny was on Japan Produce 101 Season 2, where he made it to finale but did not make the final group, and placed top 9 in ep 1 in Boys Planet. He was also second for Global fancam views for the signal song behind Dang Hong Hai, as seen in ep 3.) He was fairly popular prior to the show but Mnet didn't seem interested in giving him screen time to reflect that. I remember when the episode aired, my thought process at the time for Feel Special was 'maybe the audience didn't vote Woongki because he had so many parts so maybe they thought he was taking all of the parts from the group.' That was just a coping theory from me at the time though. Shuaibo was also fairly popular in Korea for his visuals as well, so that definitely played a role in his popularity. But like you said, the audience don't have the behind the scenes context for the group, and only have the performance to go off. Woongki had killing part, main vocal, choreographed the original dance portion, and was leader for this group. The voting period closed 11-12 hours after this episode aired, so a lot of people ended up switching their votes around after this episode, as you'll see in Ep 8. I really enjoyed the IU song as well. I didn't have many expectations from the team, but they all did SO good. I really liked Doha's lower register in the song. Butterfly was also really good. Rui's dancing is so good at conveying emotions. I really feel for Junseo, as his issue almost seemed to be entirely self-esteem/confidence related. They showed him hitting the notes in the interim check, and he fits the vibe well, but I think it was all mental for him. Idk what he's done outside of Boys Planet, I think his agency, 143, basically booted him and Daeul after the show ended, signaling that they only took them as trainees so they could go on the show and hopefully give the agency more clout if they made it far/debuted. WakeOne did the same for the G-group trainees, Haruto, Anthonny, and Min, after the show as well. I hope to see Junseo debut. I think Tomboy is definitely the best performance out of all of them just on a technical level. Fun fact, behind the scenes of this performance or for the Mcountdown, Hanbin talks about how he picked Tomboy specifically because Zhang Hao was in Tomboy, and was going to follow him to whatever song he picked. The room Hanbin was in and Zhang Hao followed him into was the dorm laundry room I'm pretty sure, where there were no cameras, so trainees would go in to eat, cry or do whatever without the cameras knowing.

Such a fun episode!

yesss some of the performances in this episode are my favorite in the whole show, can't wait to watch
