WORLD OF STREET WOMAN FIGHTER - EPISODE 2

WORLD OF STREET WOMAN FIGHTER - EPISODE 2

Comments

Watching OJO be put a disadvantage over and over is rather frustrating. Because it also makes it so much easier to evil edit them since the average watcher wont understand why its such a big deal. None of the music has matched them except for in the battle dedicated to waacking and they got punished for following the rules the show set for them I would be very frustrated and reasonably so.

Great guesses! And I believe in SWFVietnam the Leader class got her choreo stolen but to your point about it being the Korean franchise, it hasn't happened before!

Jessica Holyfield

They did release the short where we see Monika push Hyojin forward while Logistx went jn for a front flip to, what could’ve been, a hollow back, but had to land awkwardly to move away from her… they diced the video so much. I hate these simultaneous battles bc I don’t want either of them to get hurt. Ofc mnet focused on the narrative a lot so ppl are saying it was controversial/cowardly for Marlee to choose Bumsup.

Sal

This is just my theory but I feel like mnet doesn't really like street hip-hop dancers…? Like Motiv, Wolf'lo also got pretty little screentime (2-3 battles) in SWF2 despite them winning 12 battles. It reminds me of an interview someone did with Babysleek where the interviewer asked how to succeed in the Street series and Babysleek just said, "Do choreo. Even if you're an underground street dancer, learn how to do choreo." I also do think that they'll air a special episode like they did with SMF and SWF2 that was just some unaired battles. Still, I do agree that I'd rather see more of the battles than the extremely repetitive storylines. As for why the crew battle with Motiv and Bumsup was edited out, I saw a video where they speculated it was because of how Hyojin Choi was dancing extremely close to Logistx, which would've painted Bumsup in an even worse light considering ppl were already giving them mad shit for Honey J being all up in Marlee's face during their No Respect battle.

So my prediction for the main dancer for leader class is also either Kaea or Marlee, but more so Kaea. If you look at the preview at 47:39 in your reaction video, in this formation kaea is the one at the front and also in another preview (don’t remember where it was) you see all six leaders walking away in a line and the ones in the middle are Kaea and the one to her left seems to be Marlee. This seems to be the ending scene and you wouldn’t have your main dancer anywhere else in the formation than in the center for the beginning and the ending. So that’s why they’re my guess! But also, this would be a first if Rie Hata doesn't get the main dancer position. First time a leader not defending their choreography and even for the entire season all of the crews that choreographed lost their own choreography.

Meral

there's nothing i have to say about how mnet is editing these videos aside from what's already been said but anyways i think it's really fun that with ojo gang's minami and ruu you have a participant in d league and a judge on d league in the same team LMAO

deeps

Omg the editing is SOOO atrocious I can only watch it through you lol. If you remember from one of the first teasers, Honey J gets worst dancer in leader position, and the person announcing it is speaking in English, leaving it to RF, AG, or Motiv, if we assume that the winning leader is the one annoucing it. To me it sounds like Teesha but idk, I've seen/heard things about Teesha, Kaea, AND Marlee getting main dancer.

Nathaniel Wanner

SPOILER (technically?): If you look at the preview at the end of the episode, you can see Teesha vs Marlee with Honey J, and Rie at the back. Everyone was saying it must be the preview for worst dancer (Teesha vs Marlee) but I think it's the 2nd round of main dancer auditions and those 4 were picked

Spencer Lily Sinclair

For real, thank you for these lol even watching your reactions I have to fast forward some of the cringe mnet drama edits. They won't let anyone's personality or dancing shine, everything feels forced & manufactured.

sioxey

No I 100% that was the case. Most crews changed the choreo but only RHT got the note (that we know of) so it’s unfortunate that we are withheld information that forbids us from making appropriate assumptions about how things panned out….

Jessica Holyfield

I think they only gave the note about changing the choreo to RHTokyo and not also Royal Family because their issue wasn't specifically changing the choreo but rather changing the style/vibe of it. Royal Family just essentially enhanced the aggressiveness of AG's already aggressive choreo, but RHTokyo's choreo changes, while more minor compared to RF's, to me, anyway, seem to have a bigger impact in how much they changed the overall style/vibe of the choreo. In other words, RHTokyo could have only changed two things, but the impact to the overall style of the choreo is as great as if they'd made ten changes, whereas RF could've changed ten things, but they still feel within the style of AG Squad's choreo so the impact of those choreo changes don't feel as immense as RHTokyo's. My issue with them giving that note to RHTokyo, though, is that I don't know why they moved them forward to perform again if they had those feelings about their changes because they made a lot of the same choreo changes the first time they performed it when each crew did it, so why move them to the next round to perform again just to give them that note. I get your point about them being incosistent with their judging, though, because it's been driving me up the wall, and when watching this episode live, I also thought they should've had that same criticism for RF, too, but after watching it again, I think their issue was them changing the style with their choreo changes rather than the fact that they changed the choreo in general. I could be wrong, thoogh. With these judges, who knows lol.

Ebony Coco

Last thing. I never like the music. Not because I think one group has advantage but I’m just not a fan of the music 😭😭 I think season two’s music was cool and stage fighter had decent music but this season especially has been bad to me unfortunately 😭😭

I makes me sad that Rena's victory fell into controversy just because 4 seconds of sincronicity with her team. I'm not a dancer and I don't have the proficiency or information dancers have, and I don't know any of them from before, I know Ibuki is supposed to be a legend because the remarcs done in the show, but to me, Rena ate her alive from the begining, she just went for it while Ibuki was just wining that she wanted Rie and following her around. What about stop crying and dance against the one that already started next to you? Also If Rena would have stopped because Ibuki wanted Rie and she don't come out RHT would have lost for sure. And also it wasn't that Rena pulled a Gabee. Rena danced and danced well. For me this felt like that scene in the drama 25 - 21 when the lead female wins fair but her opponent made a scene and since her opponent was the most popular athlete she was accused of buying the judges and told her "you made a scene and now my gold medal lost it's value"

Its Just Lustfly

The show’s format feels all over the place—lots of filler and no clear judging criteria. It’s clear Mnet leans into drama because it keeps people watching. As someone who’s interned in production, I get how those behind-the-scenes decisions happen, so I’m not really surprised. I have a lot more thoughts, but I’ll stop before I end up writing a whole essay 😭😭 Curious what you think about the RF situation. I noticed others like Marlee use fingerprints too (correct me if I’m wrong). So, do you think Royal’s getting more criticism because they’ve reused so much of the older choreographies? (As in a chunk of sections vs just moves) Honestly, it rubbed me the wrong way at first, but your point made a lot of sense. I’m genuinely trying to learn😭😭 I really love Motiv! It’s great to see American representation, especially on a show centered around street dance (no shade to anyone). And as a Black woman, it means a lot to see women who look like me on that stage. Also—they’re absolutely hilarious 🤣 This ended up being long anyway 🤦🏾‍♀️
