Hahahaha

I chuckled every time Jess said "You guys want another conspiracy theory? 😏 " because I already knew what she would say cause I was thinking it too πŸ˜‚

I just found this. Another example of mnet editing their words. Moana commented on a fan's tiktok: "I’d like to confirm I never thought I could bet kyoka😭 Mnet with their amazing editing chopped my words into saying I was angry because I thought I should win. I actually said β€œI was angry because I knew I danced to win instead of dancing to have fun” and that’s why I knew I lost even before Kyoka started dancing. Also felt bad cause we were one round away from being eliminated but yea slay x" The tiktok: https://vt.tiktok.com/ZSktVaThK/

Thank you Kira! If Mnet reaches out, I may have to do a poll on here since I would be so indecisive hahahaha and MORE conspiracy theories are on the way.. Just going to drop them as we go along haha

What an episode ey? ahahahah My spirit for it all, is Kyoka's face at the end of the second relay, when the results came through. Reading the comments, it seems that the people in the room felt RF's incredible energy, which is why I would have understood if the judges gave them the first relay, even though, in "theory" it is their job to be impartial and look at it from a technical standpoint, but whatever, vibes and energy do count to a certain extent, so for one time I get it. The second relay though, particularly those 5s that kyoka dominated, took the chance when RF hesitated and showed us some good actual battle mindset... idk idk, honestly I expected babysleek to keep it more cool and impartial, which she did in the first 3 battles, but then the last two all judjes were just kind of going with the vibe? Which is not inherently a bad thing, if you are part of the audience, but as a judge? Again, now I undestand why Jessica makes it a point each and every time to do her job as meticulously as she does! :) Seriously Jessica, why aren't you there, you would be the best! Anyway, living for the tea spilled this ep, and overall just happy that Ojo and Motiv crew admist all the mess, made it! I'm sorry that RF got caught in the political, if we want to call it that , side of mnet, it's real injustice at this point, but how are we still surprised considering the show's history. We'll see how all this goes at the end, and what sort of convoluted story will they paint! One thing for sure, despite the show, I've come to know amazing new dancers, and it doesn't matter how it all goes, I have mad respect for them all, and wish them all the best!

Kira

Too much drama to show hahah

Jessica Holyfield

Oh yes.. Bless Mnet because now everybody and their mom know how they edit haha

Jessica Holyfield

yeah they sent audience home so they wouldnt know who got eliminated, same thing happened in season 2 for the elim battles but they showed it in season 2, guess they didnt have enough time to show it here.

I just want to say that the chopping and clipping together of audio has been present in all other seasons of the Street series and other Mnet survival show franchises. And yes, it's always been as bad and obvious as you can tell now that they're doing it to English speakers. Even in Korean, they sometimes clip two phrases together that don't make grammatical sense or they add in comments that don't make sense with the timing. Mnet's editing is a joke and now even ppl who don't speak Korean can tell.

I have my own conspiracy theory... I think Mnet was very much aware of royal family's choreo repetition before the public called it out and instead of saying anything, they did all this (and tailored certain things) so they would have an easy elimination pick because people aren't really mad about this first elimination because of that. At least, what I've noticed is most people are pretty chill about it despite royal being a super strong team.

I wanna add my little input on the whole "not feeling like K-pop" thing, as I took a class this past semester in Korea on K-pop and what constitutes as K-pop music. My professor mentioned that K-pop itself is a very broad genre that has a multitude of different key points to it. It's not just based solely on the language it is sung in, or the musical aspects by itself. It also includes things like performance, visual aspects (music video, fashion, etc.), and even the business model behind K-pop groups. People like to say that KATSEYE isn't K-pop because they don't sing in Korean and they only have 1 Korean member, but from what I've learned in my class, they are considered K-pop. Their management, training, concept, visual aspects, performance, they are all influenced by the K-pop industry. When JYP was creating the group VCHA he called them an American-based global K-pop group because they were still considered K-pop even though they sang in English, were based in America, and only had one member who was ethnically Korean. And you are extremely right about a song being sung in Korean doesn't automatically make it K-pop. It needs to have all the same aspects as what is defined as K-pop to be considered K-pop. XG is a bit of a tricky one because they incorporate a mix of J-pop, K-pop and Western aspects to their songs and stuff, so you can't really place them into one category. But KATSEYE, no matter what people may want to believe, are considered K-pop just by looking at the overall aspects of the group and not just the fact that they don't sing in Korean and aren't all Korean members.

Someone who was there at the battle said that they left before the last one so that they wouldn't know the results. They also said Royal Family's power in person was insane and that their energy fills the space and is overwhelming. I think this is why RF won some of the battles they did. Their energy possibly influenced the judges.

In fact, there are a number of phased reasons why RHT is attacked (I don't take well of that)... First of all, Kyoka's popularity exploded even before the first episode was aired in Korea, which also increased the popularity of OJO Gang. Even now, every time the episode is aired, their popularity skyrockets. Maybe even more than their own team, Bumsup. According to the flow of the broadcast, there was a narrative of Osaka vs Tokyo, so there were a significant number of fans who were immersed and opposed to it. Because there was a difficult battle decision to understand in that situation... The confrontation grew. And overall, they were very dissatisfied with the judges, especially JYP. As you can see from Ojo Gang's behind-the-scenes talk, their standards were inconsistent. In the process, there are a lot of people who felt that JYP seemed to defend RHT in a noticeable way. With speculation that they are biased against rht because they want to get good choreography from Rie later on. In fact, when the broadcast began, the evaluation of the Bumsup was not very high in Korea. In the pre-released K-pop mission, while other national teams showed such unique and powerful dances, there were many people who felt that the dance was sloppy and lacking in strength. There were also rumors that it was a decline due to age. There were also frequent comments that the membership should have been mixed with the cast members of season 2. However, there must have been a sense of sadness in one's mind. They appeared under the concept of the national team, and it is natural that they feel proud if they do well and sorry if they don't do well, right? Under such circumstances, the worst dancer of leader class was pointed out. With Mnet's biased storytelling. Based on the above, Rie is hardly at fault. Unfortunately, however, she was targeted to resolve the unfairness and frustration they felt during the broadcast. It seems to be similar to the psychology of attacking participants who are considered PD-Pick (not known whether it is true) in the debut survival show. Apart from this, some people hate Rie because she has a history of posting photos with japanese war criminal flag designs on IG in the past. But it's a view of history that's not that far away, so it's not something to criticize... because the actual victim is still alive.

In terms of the subtitle at 2:03:36 when you said they're pushing that AG is original and RF recycles, the English subtitle is actually incorrect here. Monika says "just the way they're standing is so much 'the original'" (original aka OG Royal). I think this season has had a lot of linguistic and cultural clashes, from the actual competition between teams to the production and editing side as well as the viewer side. In Korea there's a common quote called 방방봐 which means 방솑을 λ°©μ†‘μœΌλ‘œ 봐 or "watch the show as a show/for the show that it is" i.e. don't read into it too much, especially for Mnet shows. You'll see a lot of people comment that to people if they write stupid stuff on comments like they're too heated on what is obvious reality messiness. Also for the audience leaving for the last round, they did that for season 2 as well with Tsubakill. I think it's a bit cruel but at the same time, especially for Koreans, most people like when their crew is in elimination (though it sucks to be eliminated) because of the screentime they get and they find the elimination battles to be the most fun part aha. Especially once megacrew is done it's sort of whatever, many people don't care who wins it's just to see their crews the most 😭
