2025-07-14 18:37:16 +0000 UTCA few things as I go through these: - Agree with your prelims! You've seen Yeonju several times, yes. She was in Line Up 9 against Doma on the Beethoven track! You also have seen Waiwai and Sankim on SDC! Sankim was on Lay's team on SDC3 and Waiwai was on Jackson's team (I think, I might be wrong, I haven't watched SDC in a hot minute). Waiwai is also the host/organizer of many waacking events in China. - Marid vs Dicky - I thought that if Mounia couldn't tie the first round, she would've picked Marid. I also thought Marid should've taken it in 1st round. But in the second round, she was doing great until she went to the floor. She completely lost me there, so in the end, I gave the tie-breaker to Dicky. But I thought 2nd round for both of them felt exhausted for different reasons: Dicky because of stamina - or maybe his outfit, that leather looks really uncomfortable to move in - and Marid felt like she was grasping for a creative moment. - Haejun vs Grace - I preferred Grace's approach, because I felt it fit this track better. Haejun's approach fit Kevin Aviance's Din Daa Daa more - that one is often used in Waacking/Vogue. I've seen other waackers do similar things to what Haejun did here. Also, I know this shouldn't be a factor, but I also felt Haejun didn't do anything we haven't seen from Haejun before. Grace's perspective was more fresh and fit George Kranz's version of the song much better imo. - Hidden is a beast. I don't even know what to say about her this year. She didn't really hit me previous years but this year, it's like she's gone into super saiyan mode or something lol. Definitely my MVP for this year's Line Up! - Viktor... Oh man. I'm much more familiar with Viktor from his Voguing days. He was bodying people left and right in SDK Europe all the way back in 2013. The way he can isolate his body is just mindblowing. - Final round: I think Jeem took the first round, but Viktor bodied the second round so hard I completely forgot what Jeem did before him. Could that have been a factor? Probably not, these judges are probably better at remembering rounds than me. But yeah, based on how the judges have judged the previous rounds, it didn't surprise me. You know who bodied that song even harder than him, though? Hidden at Next-G Vol. 2. It's my top replayed battle of 2025 by far. - Regarding affiliation: there's a ton here. Dicky Miles is Haejun's mother in House of Gorgeous Gucci. Mounia (the I can't make a decision judge) is very good friends with Dicky, Haejun, and Danzel. Wizzard is part of IHOW with Viktor. And he voted against Viktor in both semis and finals. The only one not really affiliated with anyone is Waackeisha, who's from Canada, but I imagine she's probably good friends with the French waackers, too. So I always feel like questioning judges over their crew affiliations and such is pointless. - Can't wait for you to check out the rest of Line Up X! So many SDC dancers here this year. I think this was the only season I watched every single preliminary, battle, and showcase.
