I COMPLETELY understand where you are coming from here! Part of it feels familiar and part not so much. Change in ways were weren't expecting which can leave us feeling super mixed feelings! I bet you are not alone with this! I hope with Horizon that we get a better indicator on how Taemin is wanting to showcase himself as an artist and I'm looking forward to uncovering more of that with you Mini!!!

I've been a Taemin fan for 15 years now, ever since their Ring Ding Dong era, and I feel very conflicted about this comeback. On one hand, the song is a banger, and I love that he's done something very unexpected with the hip hop vibes. SHINee as a whole very rarely does hip hop, so that completely caught me off guard when I saw it. Song's already added on my playlist and I've really enjoyed the rest of the album as well!
At the same time, though, there's something that just doesn't feel right about this MV. As you mentioned, the outfits are recycled Guilty and Advice concepts, so that's slightly disappointing. It wouldn't be if the song itself was in a similar vibe to them, but it's a whole different vibe, and I just don't think they fit the song or the choreography? It reminds me of how I felt when IDEA was released. It was a complete switch-up from the Taemin that I was familiar with and was expecting, but it was a good change. It felt like Taemin was stepping out of his comfort zone and exploring a different style. Here... I don't know. It feels like I'm watching someone else try to be Taemin, but it's Taemin himself? Sorry if that makes no sense, it makes perfect sense in my head 🤣 Maybe I'll feel better once the music shows start at the end of the week and I can get a better look at the choreography as a whole.
