Lol i know I'm watching your kingdom/queendom reactions so late, but I didn't even know there was another road to kingdom season! The more I learn🤣 For the enhypen younite performance, it actually really reminded me of one of enhypen's sub title tracks called sacrifice (eat me up). I think they actually used that mv as inspiration. (Idk if they actually did though since I haven't watched your reaction to the EP yet) But if it helps, the sacrifice mv is about some enhypen members being stuck in different stages of whatever journey. Enhypen went with a fallen angel type of imagery for the mv, since one of the members starts with white wings. As the mv goes by, it begins to turn darker be it with the actual color of the wings, or with other fallen black feathers on top of the white wing. However, while enhypen's mv ends up showing all of the members standing in front of the light, no longer the darkness, it seems like younite went for the opposite. That's where it feels like the bite me meanings comes in for me at least, since bite me is basically about the lengths some people will go for love and etc from what I remember. It's also kind of about how someone can be willing to surrender/sacrifice themselves just for love and etc. (that's what the black wings in the end reminded me of) *Oh, there is also a lot of the lyrics talking about hands, as well as showcased in the sacrifice (eat me up) mv Lol, sorry for the random comment I didn't know that road to kingdom had a small enhypen portion, so this was a surprising but fun reaction of yours!😭

That is a really great comparison made!!! I am excited about seeing Tempest in the following challenge!

As a Tempest fan (forever 7)... I also liked TNX best here. I suddenly remembered watching Dancing With the Stars and how Derek Hough won so many times because he didn't just choreograph dances, he had full creative visions :3

Firstly. LOVE that you take time to share your thoughts. Means the world to know that I literally am not the only one who feels this way about these things and I’m so glad we see eye to eye on each of the groups! I still feel TNX took top spot of the episode (I will be able to watch the episode tomorrow when I go digging for an eng sub version haha) and look forward to really seeing what these things look like from a camera isolated view!! Soooo fun!

Younite - I honestly didn't get the whole bite me reference despite watching the episode so I totally agree with you on there. That's what personally gave me a huge disconnect with their song choice and concept since I didn't think the lyrics matched at all with the whole demonic theme. I only got it when you mentioned the apple and snake here haha. I really do like many of the choreography choices though and felt like they really enhanced and contributed to the audience's immersion. 8Turn - They had a good concept in the beginning but I feel like the entire storyline was shown in the first third of the performance. To me, there weren't really any big energy shifts in the performance so it just felt like they were coasting along throughout most of it. Tempest - I actually really liked this performance but I think that's my bias since the first scene reminded me of Power by B.A.P, which is my fave group,, and how they had the most clear and continuous live vocals out of all four groups. I think the members did well but I really did not like their choice of formation and also directly using the actual Maniac choreo. I thought it was just laziness on the choreo team/yuehua's part when they stuck to the original 7 member formation for Lighthouse but it seems like a conscious choice 🫤 It's really distracting in the first chorus because the left side (stage right) feels way more sparse, exacerbated by the outfit choices and the levels. Also I haven't yet checked out the other groups but I can see what you mean when you say their main vocal (Hyuk with the blue hair) has really captivating movement! I also agree with the random dance break and I hate that it's in the final track that mnet released. If not, I would've streamed the song a lot. TNX - I also really liked their performance and I think this was the most cohesive and fulfilled concept for me. I give a lot of props to their choreo team since it's a b-side that was never performed so they had to create an entirely new choreo without having anything as a reference. I also really liked how they used the cloth to create interesting textures on the stage like the water, shadows, etc. Their use of props and imagery was really innovative and tells a story. I definitely agree that it's the best out of the four so far. Also… I honestly hate black outfits in low light situations since I think it really muddles the visibility of their movement. I really liked how TNX and Tempest both chose light outfits because I felt like I could see the intention much more clearly.

I'll place my thoughts on the perfs in comments since they're really long, as usual.

I feel the TNX Spotify may come true if the trends follow through like seasons past! And thank goodness was I just read your mind and just threw in a live stray kids performance 😂

The Stray Kids Match was so interesting to me, because it made me want the TNX Version on Spotify but watching the Tempest Performance made me want to rewatch the Stray Kids one Live.
