Love that I get to share some love with Pentagon! (Yay for Galysh!) and there is MORE coming! I can TOTALLY see the Franklin HAND print on this and I can agree it's a tough one to emulate well.. (I have receipts of my MANY failures during this era hence why I am so blessed to be able to dance in a way where I can admire his movement quality more empathetically!

2024-10-09 12:20:09 +0000 UTCThank you for bringing Pentagon to the schedule Galysh! WHen I say I know I am not the only one who feels the joy of getting to watch them and learn about their movement quality, I truly mean this! I am so happy you recommended me this and the SKINNY JEANS needed to be brought to the schedule and I'm delighted they are here haha. I love your thought about Cube and how they may still be issuing Pentagon some "training wheels" (if you hear me bring this up, you can take pride in knowing it was a direct influence of your comment haha! Super delighted to continue watching them and uncovering which tracks you chose for this month! Whoop Whoop!

2024-10-09 12:19:51 +0000 UTCAh yes, Pentagon and Angsty lyrics. Two things that frequently seem to go hand in hand. Someone once jokingly said that even Pentagon's happier tracks are melancholic, and it's true. These gentlemen can angst real well, love that for them. Thank you for reacting to them, and for appreciating the song. As I mentioned previously, Like This was their first self-produced Title Track, so it's a song with a lot of emotional weight behind it. I know Kino helped with the choreography, but I wasn't able to find who was the lead on it. Eitherway, you had a lot of fascinating commentary so I'm very curious about their dance choices now. Admittedly, I don't usually watch their choreography videos more than once, but what you said about the mismatch between lyrics and gestures made a lot of sense. It's as if the intent was there but the execution was lacking, but it also makes me wonder how much creative freedom they actually had for this. Since they were still rookies at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Cube still had them wearing "training wheels" as it were. XD I went on a speed run of their more recent choreography vids (circa 2020s) to see if I could find any that were more intertwined when it comes to lyrical meaning + choreo choices, so I'm doubly curious about what you'll think of their later discography. At the very least, they did grow out of their skinny jeans phase. To address the proverbial elephant in the room, yes, that's the Dawn that was dating Hyuna. He's off in the military right now, but in keeping with the theme, he also has several angsty songs. It must be something in the water, lol. Again, thank you for accepting my request and the thoughtful feedback. It was a delight to watch.

2024-10-08 21:39:31 +0000 UTClove the group and the song but this choreo really was missing that extra umph 😭 2015-17 was when franklin yu's style was really trendy so most of the choreo during these years tried emulating that (and mostly fell flat imo 😅). regardless this marked the starting point of when they were discovering who they were as artists so they end up bringing soooo much more to their performances from 2018 and on. but this was such a pleasant surprise, thank you for checking out ptg!!

2024-10-08 11:24:36 +0000 UTCI remember having a conversation with someone about this exact thing! (It may have been you 😂) and I can completely understand it! I still think about the fact they went LIVE LIVE on their vocals for RTK! Such a standard set!

2024-10-08 11:23:03 +0000 UTCPentagon is more about vocals/production as a group for me than anything, but this song was on HEAVY rotation for me in 2018. Their discography is so good.
