2024-11-26 21:48:46 +0000 UTCI mean they set the joke up so well 😂 loved this episode and loved that you are watching with me! Really enjoyed the performances and was saddened at the departures of so many! With Moo Gan, I can relate to a certain degree since I’ve been in for around 17 years. My fire hasn’t extinguished but I’ve learned when I need to say no at times when I need to rest or say no to a job opportunity because of my mental state. Its a tricky balance but I’m happy he knew his limit and was even humorous at his departure haha

2024-11-24 08:38:44 +0000 UTCWhat a bittersweet episode!! Love how we get so emotional watching these performances like the salvation performances and then the dancers just say the most random jokes. Yang Seong Yun has been the funniest this season - "Why doesn't my older sister cry for me?" 😂this man is so random!! And between Ryu Tae Young and Seung Wook - "Will it be long hair or baldhead?". Honourable mention: Jess - "Well I'm a HOLY-field" (great play of words there!!). As someone who started dance for 2 years so far, I don't know how to feel about Moo Gan, I never thought of the possibility of reaching a limit specially in art where it feels like you can never stop finding new ways of expressing your dance. But I also respect his decision and personally think he is at a stage where he will always offer something beautiful and authentic with his dance. I still see him posting videos on his YouTube channel so I'll continue to follow him there. Sending encouragements to Moo Gan and all dancers in this show💜

2024-11-24 08:29:48 +0000 UTCSo many thoughts Spencer and you shared yours so beautifully!!! Completely agree with you and I am so saddened at some of how this all went down... Very happy that MooGan is able to leave the show on his terms and also screw Mnet a little bit in the process haha. Scoring on any Mnet show is WILD and needs to be studied I swear.. Lord help us all with that.. And I have SO MANY STUDENTS that relate to your point on seeing family members in the audience haha

2024-11-24 02:00:36 +0000 UTCOMG THAT WAS THE LEGIT WORST..... Like NO reactions AT ALL to the draft choreos when they were RIGHT THERE.... Lord help us all.. PRIME content that they screwed us of... BOO

2024-11-24 01:57:35 +0000 UTCHannie what a JOY it is to have you here sharing this vital perspective! I love hearing this and I'm so glad the literal WORLD agrees on this haha.. My heart hurts fror MooGan but I'm thankful he was able to take a step back and leave for his health. Most people wouldn't do that. AND because he was such a "big name" on the show, Mnet coudn't just sweep his departure under the rug so haha to them

2024-11-24 01:56:40 +0000 UTCI truly wish that they subbed the BTS of these clips because THAT'S the stuff I want to watch and enjoy!!! And agree with you so much about all of your points made... GOODNESS GRACIOUS! I think the big note has to be different judging panels for the same scoring bracket..... That doesn't sit well AT ALL... Bless it all!!!
Jessica Holyfield
2024-11-24 01:54:37 +0000 UTCCompletely agree! I'll get frustrated for the both of us haha

2024-11-24 01:53:00 +0000 UTCSince the score is so critical in this episode and determines which dancers are eliminated, I am so confused when I saw different judges for different programs. If everyone is going to be judged, shouldn't they at least have a consistent judge panel? This matters when different judges seem to have completely different criteria and grading schemes. The one who got the most criticized seems to be the Contemporary Dance Coach Choi Soojin, she gave out scores ranging from 60 to 90! Which is a huge difference and I really want to know her criteria! Sung Wook's team got additional help also confused me. If everyone has this help, MNET needs to show them, otherwise, it seems Sung Wook's team has an advantage. Moreover, the additional help looks like coming from Coach Choi Soojin (please correct me if I am wrong!), and she is on the judging panel for his program. Maybe she judged unbiasedly, but it really didn't look good. I was sad about the last elimination because they didn't have individual screen time or a proper goodbye. But this time, it is just brutal! They got called out in a line of people and told them they were eliminated without giving them time to process. Is this really the best way to do it? I knew many were annoyed by how the public mission has become more of a popularity contest instead of a choreography contest. But at the same time, I feel I kinda understand it? My thought of them already have concerts or events lined up after the show is confirmed in the end of the episode with a date! I don't know how popular STF is locally in SK (hope someone can share insights), but based on the average viewership ratings (Nielsen Korea) on the wiki compared to SWF and SMF, STF has no more than 1% in any episode (which is the lowest previously, it's the first episode of SWF1)! Mnet really need to see the potential for ticket selling to make sure they don't end up wasting money for following concerts and events. And I believe they are hoping the voting can encourage the audience to get involved and possibly make the show more popular. I respect Moo-Gan so much for setting his priority on himself. I knew all these competing shows were brutal, but I was so upset to see how the show slowly destroyed contestants' confidence, like Moo-Gan and Dong-hoon. Many are not even that fragile to begin with! They participated in many competitions and were in the industry for a while! I think a slightly longer turnover time (less stress, more rest) and clearer judication criteria will help tremendously. Sorry for the long rambling, I have so much feeling after watching this episode TAT

2024-11-23 07:16:42 +0000 UTCAll groups performed twice and the public in the studio also could watch it. I think it was for full cam and solo cam

2024-11-23 05:33:53 +0000 UTCThanks for getting frustrated on my behalf otherwise I'd be so done with these mnet shows after the first few eps lol. I'd rather just watch more of the dancers just workshopping and roasting each other, the entertainment is already there without the forced drama editing ugh.

2024-11-22 21:57:51 +0000 UTCThe broadcasted version might have been a fusion of the takes you watched and the takes of the fancams actually... For Hye Hyun's team for example, I'm pretty sure the beginning is from the take you watched (the pistol squat from his fancam was slightly different) and, as you noticed, the ending is from the fancam'. That or it's a third take but that would be excessive. I think one other controversy about the judging was that the some groups were judged by different people. Some groups had Chang Yong as a judge but others had Soo Jin instead. I don't think it's a huge deal since they were only judged within their own group and not compared with the others. But since Soo Jin was harsher with her ratings, it made some people mad as they saw it as disrespectful. Honestly, I have no issue with that, I find it better than shows like SDC where every judge always give more than 90 or even 95 points so everyone can be happy. I would have liked to have more explanations about the judging though. Even if there weren't any guidelines set by the show, I'm pretty sure each judge had their own criteria and it would have been good to hear them. And I actually like than the benefit points given by the judges had a big impact. Because, let's be honest for a moment, if it were only a popularity contest, they could just skip the performances at this point and the results would have been the same. It's just too late in the game, viewers already have their favorites. From what I can see with the votes, only Hye Hyun gained significant momentum after the first mission. Maybe also Jun Woo? I really liked Ho Jong's performance for example, but you can't make me believe that the 3000 people who voted for his team in the first five minutes had the time to open the very slow mnet+ app, watch the performance and then vote before the five minutes ended, let alone watch at least the other performance of the same song. In the end, I just wished Mnet would have taken time to showcase everyone in order to level the playing field a little. For example, they just released 40 minutes of subbed content of the dancers just interacting with each other in the waiting room before last episode's elimination. It would have been great to have that from the beginning in order to make the viewers more curious about the less highlighted dancers. But just after releasing those subbed videos, they decided to release some videos of this challenge practice... unsubbed. I don't understand Mnet. Since they can afford to sub unlisted videos that you can only find through their app, I'm pretty sure they can afford to pay translators for the few behind the scenes videos they release publicly.

2024-11-22 21:56:09 +0000 UTCHahaha. As as you might expect, this episode ended up wearing down the patience of Korean viewers as well. First of all, there was a lot of criticism about the editing from the very first episode. And as for the public evaluations, since Mnet initially had a low reflection rate, the judges' benefits ultimately decided the dancers' elimination. As for the judges' evaluations, We felt that they had a rather distinct preference but did not embrace the diverse participants. For example, unique dancers like Mugan. Mugan is the second most popular here after Hojong, so people felt more concerned about that. But like in this episode, they sometimes judge without precise criteria. Like you said, we also want the judges to set clear criteria first and judge based on those. Mugan’s decision was such a huge issue here that it overshadowed the entire previous content, but people respected him and sympathized with him. And at the same time we’re rejoicing because he screwed Mnet over .. :) Im writing this because I thought you guys might be curious about what Koreans think, and as you can see, it's probably similar to what you guys think. 😭 We are also waiting for the next episode just because of our love for the dancers. 🥹 If you have something curious about, plz ask ! I’m down to share my thoughts :) And thank you for your reaction, Jessica I’m enjoying it so much!

2024-11-22 20:32:17 +0000 UTCSuper bummed for Jinho, he was someone I was rooting for since the beginning :(. I have so much respect for Moogan. He's had a rough go on the show and you can tell it was getting to him. I feel like he felt he didn't meet peoples expectations but I'm glad he recognized when it was his time to go. He is such a unique artist and performer and I feel his best really couldn't be showcased in a competition program like this, but he still had some of my favorite moments. I'm so hoping to see some clips from the tour and that we get some special performances from the eliminated contestants! I also really wished we could've seen their reactions to the solo choreographies!! They freaking teased it and gave us nothing 😭

2024-11-22 18:58:43 +0000 UTCI'm not even 10 minutes in but I wish we left the public vote out or at least not make the only real factor on the LAST mission like Mnet why. We wanted an audience to watch them perform and give them the energy of a live performance not judge. Lol, I love when my family comes to see my performances but only if I can't see them in the audience. I avoid where they're sitting like the plague until the show is over. I definitely agree, I think they're showing us the dancing order based on how they presented the elimination scores not the actual performance order. Lowkey, if I was the Sungwook team, hearing Hojong's team practice in my ear would have me asking if we can dance in the hall. It's so interesting that in Stage Fighter, idol singer is a compliment and they all use it a lot but in the Street Fighter part of the series it's always an insult. WHAT? Like sure obviously on other challenges they've done multiple takes for other challenges but for a challenge in front of a live audience, the viewers at home should have gotten the same shots. And that's such oversight to pull this and then not even check that the ending pose is the same. The Moogan moment actually made me cry because it's too relatable. I'm glad they at least brought Donghoon on instead of keeping him eliminated.
