BENCH PERFORMANCE
Team Rythm:
This team should be the team beat starter's example of on how you should work as a team not leaving behind others, group performance has a great impact on criteria not just individual and I loved how Hee-Jun reach Jin Ziming, his attitude is so leader coded.
MVP: as what Changsub said it will be the korean guy because he knew it since the knetz are more interested on their korean males than other nationalities, but its ok since heejun deserves it he works so hard for the team and did well on their performance.
Team Beat:
The bench team did better on teaming up than the starter team it's not just the leader who's building their success but most of them, I loved their teamwork. Doyoon forgot about not sitting maybe because he carried away with the current successful performance and the happiness was on his head, still got it good.
MVP: most of them deserves to be the MVP, Doyoon improved a lot, Yuito getting more stable, Hanseo have impact, JunHyeok that falsetto high note, but Kairi performed fiercely and has the most accurate expressions.
Team Groove:
This team creates so much bonds during their practices and with their song you know it'll come good since the happiness of the song it build up joyfulness while performing, they don't need to fix their expressions they just have to be cheerful and smile since they're all cute.
MVP: I enjoyed watching Jaeho and Gangdon I loved how they performed on their parts.

Hmm after watching the episode, I think as Jess also mentioned, the directors traded players more according to what their respective teams needed instead of going for equal rank players. Changsub wanted more powerful players in his team along with vocalists he already has, probably for next rounds, while team rhythm already has star players but this time went for someone more stable and has a strong presence for their bench team. If they'd taken Woongki that would've actually been a huge upset, so atleast that didn't happen xD Also I'm sure along with talent, they're also considering which player is getting more favourable fan votes to keep their teams winning overall too, so yeah even thougth I'm sure he saw Le Zhiwei did good in this round, he still did come last in votes unfortunately.
But, yeah, I agree that it could definitely make Team Beat directors to try and steal a strong player from Rhythm next time if they get the chance. But that's the fun and I hope we get some drama haha. Let's see how the next round goes though. I've already seen some spoilers and it's going to be tough.

The live audience's voting choices were not good given the performances, but I think it is a blessing for Team Groove because they now basically have two starting lineups since some of their strongest performers ended up on the bench team despite their strong performances, (Joohyung, for example), while others stayed on the actual starter team.
Meanwhile, Team Beat and Team Rhythm have very clear differences between the strength of their starting and bench teams. It also doesn't help the other teams that Changsub is so strategic and balanced both teams out even more by adding the new strong recruits to both teams (Hanseo on Bench and Heejun on the Starting team), rather than just getting rid of ranks 14 and 13 and only being able to add new people to the bench team.
He had to sacrifice a high-ranked member, but he's likely gained so much more in return.

This was such an enlightening reaction (and a fun one.) I'm vibing with this variance on the usual survival show system, it's nice to see something somewhat new.
A bit disappointed that Beat's Bench lost, personally I would have ranked them over Rhythm's Bench. But then again, Baggy Jeans isn't really my type of song, so I might be a bit biased in that regard. Still, I'm delighted with Changsub snatching up Hanseo. I can't wait to see how he'll grow in Groove.
I also thought it was interesting that Changsub traded Hiroto (4) for Rhythm's Heejun (2) which is a somewhat equivalent exchange, but then Rhythm traded Royce (14) for Beat's Chih En (2) which you could argue are two members on opposite sides of the spectrum and feels a bit unequal. And, while I'm aware that Changsub also traded Li Zhiwei (14) for Hanseo (7), it feels a bit more fair given how he performed in 2nd Confession. (Where as the show isn't showing Royce at all) So I'm really curious about how the trading for the next round will go and if Beat + Rhythm will keep the same vibes. That might not be the correct term, but right now it feels like Groove is playing chess while Beat & Rhythm are playing tug-of-war, lol.
Not that I'm complaining, I'm here for the vocals first and foremost and currently those are in Groove. That Groove also has Changsub is you know, besides the point. XD
Speaking of Changsub though. You seemed surprised that the audience knew the fanchant for 2nd Confession. Tbh, I was also surprised because it's an older song but then I thought about it and 2nd confession released in 2013, so if the audience is primarily older Korean women than it actually makes sense. 2nd Confession released when I was in high school, and if the audience is 20s-30s then they'd also have heard it around that same time frame.
Also, I looked up the dates because you mentioned the order and I was curious, and they were not going in title track order. Title Track order would have been 2nd Confession (2013), Hard Carry (2016), Baggy Jeans (2023.) Nor was it debut order cause again, Groove would have gone first in that case. (Btob are old XD) So, maybe it was just random.
Anyhow, pardon the rambling, this was a very fun episode to watch with you. Thank you for the reaction!

Your logic about trades and picks is a freaking great one... Like truly! I wish that were also the case so it would make it VERY competitive and I am VERY excited for the upcoming challenge! I can feel the upsets filling the air haha

I was so bummed for Team Hard Carry. Their performance and teamwork deserved more. I love Team Rhythm but Beats performance was stronger (though I also believe Team Rhythm deserved second place overall as Give Me That was my favourite performance of this round).
The Live Voting was disappointing and I'm looking forward to Global votes coming into play. These Live audiences tend to value Korean beauty standards and I'd hate to lose some very talented guys just because they don't measure up to Korean beauty standards. I've checked out the ranking of every team member and some super talented performers are really low down.
It also feels to me like bottom place team should get more drafts. They already get the penalty of yellow cards. I think it would make it more competitive if coming last also meant first pick in the draft.
In saying that, this episode was super fun. I loved that there was a lot more teamwork and comraderie shown. Players and members supporting each other so nicely. I'm still biased toward Team Rhythm's starting line haha but that may change as players get subbed and new team dynamics come into play.
I was confused at first about next challenge but yes- each team's Starting Line-up goes against another teams Bench Line up.
