Gotcha! Thank you for the hair insight on what it could be! And I genuinely believe if a choreographer is wanting to do choreography representing a street dance, it is VERY IMPORTANT to be a part of the culture or attempt at the practice of freestyling since the culture of the dance is freestyle by inception if that makes sense. I don't mean they need to battle, but practicing exploring movement is important! Regarding if freestyle dancers need to do choreography, I don't think it should be required, but I think its a GREAT skill set to grow in especially if you want to pursue multiple facets of the industry. I also think it would help bridge more conversations between all the different sides of the scene if everyone tried each other's niches!

It's my assumption that freestylers tend to try choreo more often than choreographers attempt to battle in general, so maybe that's why they get surprised when choreographers join battles. But I also don't get the point of joining a show that requires battling and you don't battle. On the dreadlocks thing, I think Liu Yuxin might be using fake dreadlock braids rather than using her own hair, I'm African but I don't know much about this hairstyle either.

2024-12-16 22:38:01 +0000 UTCWhat bothered me about the critique of Abby and Lucas was that is was not professional. They were criticizing but not offering constructive feedback. I did not recommend the extra access episodes for these episodes for a reason. There are some later ones that would be beneficial to watch like all access 7b as that has the captain's short films. if you want behind the scenes of the guest performers, all access for episode 9 is good, and all access 10 and 11 are the picnic ones...not essential to the plot of SDC but hilarious none the less.
