2024-12-29 07:08:08 +0000 UTCI don’t think the finger thing has any significance to fromis_9. but fun fact. seoyeon was a yg trainee before joining idol school (which formed fromis_9) and was actually apart of their project group called future 2ne1 which was formed around the same time as black pink was training. they were all super young tho and eventually the project was scrapped but there is still a youtube video with them called future 2ne1 (seoyeon is the one with brown hair and the white tee with black shorts) and you can see blackpink as trainees in the background.

I always love getting to spotlight the main dancer especially when they are giving that energy but contributing to the group as a whole as well! Unfortunate that they haven't been treated the best and I hope that they are able to stay together and enjoy making music for many years to come!

This was actually one of the ones I was gonna request for the lottery haha since fromis_9 is my 3rd female ult group (after 2ne1 and sistar). Fun fact, the sparks at their feet weren't special effects but actually practical effects! The staff laid those stones(?) that create a spark when stepped on and the director had the members dance on top of them to create the effect when filming. Also yeah, Hayoung is the main dancer! She majored in hiphop dance at Hanlim high school and was active in the street scene. There's a few videos of her doing street battles as a teen before she joined the program that formed fromis_9, Idol School. She only trained as an idol through the program and after being in the debut lineup and she said it was harder for her to learn how girl groups typically execute moves since it was so far from the type of dance she trained with and was used to. I think you can still see the influence now even after 8 years of being an idol and that's probably why she caught your eye! You were also right that they were 9 members previously. One member, Gyuri, decided not to renew her contract with Pledis in 2022 since she wanted to pursue acting more. Actually, after the news that all the fromis_9 members weren't going to renew with Pledis and they all uploaded their letters onto their personal instagram, Gyuri liked all their letters and the other members have been having some small interactions with her there too (which Imo likely means that they weren't allowed to show support before due to Gyuri leaving the company). Fromis_9 is a… very unfortunate group because they've been under multiple companies that failed them and the members have mentioned a lot of complaints (wanting to have comebacks but their comebacks being 1+ years apart, wanting to be in more shows and have more opportunities outside of being an idol but the companies don't allow them to, Pledis making them think they're not popular and couldn't sell out at their own concert, their paychecks being delayed, and so much more) so it was definitely not a surprise that they wouldn't be renewing their contracts. We're not really sure what's in store for them but the members have been reassuring flovers that they want to keep the group together and they're not disbanding.

2024-12-28 13:56:16 +0000 UTCThat "Ding" moment is my favorite as well and I thought you'd appreciate the musicality of that. Also, the "hit me hit me up" section of the chorus is subtly different every chorus so you weren't wrong in you observation of that lol. You also did clock one of the main dancers in Hayoung (the orange hair), she's also one of the main vocalists and known for whistle notes so a lot of people don't immediately clock her dancing. She's actually one of the more well-experienced idols in street dance and there's a few videos of her doing Hip-Hop routines but also battling. Very underrated in my opinion lol. Fromis_9 have been around since 2018 and this vibe of choreo was a bit newer for them, about the last two years or so I'd say, but I'm really a casual follower of them so that just based off title tracks. Really fun on them though! Loved the analysis as always, glad you enjoyed!
