[UNIVERSE LEAGUE] EPISODE 9 FULL

[UNIVERSE LEAGUE] EPISODE 9 FULL

I'm sure there's some twist planned with how the final line up will be chosen. I feel like this is the most vague a survival show has been about how the final line up is selected and how many members are debuting. I've seen everything from "they're only debuting the rank one team" to "one team + rank 1 of the 2 other teams (9 members)" to "whole team + top 3 of 2nd place + top 1 of 3rd place (12 members)" to "just the top 7 guys overall". Honestly, it does keep things interesting and feels so different from most other survival shows. I do feel like, because the directors never picked the top member during trades, it feels too calculated than just a mere coincidence that they never picked the top guy. Also, I do kinda like the way they gave the director the rights to pick some of the members to send to the finale. Because that way, it wouldn't just completely be on popularity but also who the directors see has the most potential/deserves it. I'm sure they are more qualified than the average viewer. Though I am sad that Li Zhinuo got eliminated despite ranking 9th overall. But at the same time, I'm happy Changsub picked Gijoong when he ranked 25th.

I just paused while watching because I thought about your comment on the contestants that were never heard speaking their own language, it could be the fact that they're from South-East Asia... From my experience of being a fan of a Thai idol (Ten) racism is a problem in kpop for anyone who is not Korean but I think SEA idols are more looked down on than Chinese and Japanese idols.

Groove's got the older ones. Park Han is the youngest in Groove and he's 21. I really like that.

I'm already sad that this week is the last I'm going to see everyone until the official line up debuts ๐Ÿ˜ญ I wished they showed more behind the scenes at the beginning of the episode like a recap of everyone's journey up until that point and/or give the chance for the eliminated players to say their goodbyes/share the last moments with their respective teams instead of a highlighting the finalist... as if I already forgot who's who after watching them called out for 30 minutes lol! I'm sure there's enough footage.

Also If you get a chance I highly recommend the practice videos (not necessarily to react to but to watch). They were filmed much better than the performances for the last round lol. You get to actually see the choreography and it's so good!

I'm so bummed for Li Zhinuo- he ended 9th and still got eliminated :( I definitely think something is in the works for the final. There is no way they make a rule to stop the two most popular players on the other teams being traded and then don't have some way to get them in the final group. That would be so unfair and a bad financial decision too.
