100% agree with you here with that! Those were my thoughts as well since it’s harder to doctor and edit live shows when they are LIVE

About the live vocals: I've been watching a lot of survival shows, and I noticed that the final performances are usually not live. This might be related to the final voting, since live vocals could influence who people vote for. Though, at that point, most viewers already have their favorites, so it might not make much of a difference.
Another reason could be to reduce pressure on the performers and crew. The finalists are likely extremely nervous—after all, it's their last challenge to debut, and the fact that it’s a live show only adds to the pressure. This increases the chances of vocal cracks or mistakes, which could attract unnecessary hate—especially if someone messes up badly but still debuts high. People can be really harsh for no reason, so avoiding live vocals might just be a safer option overall.

Tears welled up in many ways... Touching and sad... Changsub couldn't sing last year because his throat wasn't very good. So he kept going to the hospital to get voice treatment and told me that that time was the most depressing in his life, after it got better late!
That's why I must have paid attention to the neck care of the Groove Team children!
Fortunately, I'm much better now, so I filmed a national tour solo concert and a 'Universe League' program in December, and I got a full recovery in the middle! I really enjoyed the video today! It's a national holiday here! Happy New Year :)

So the downside of a survival show like this is where they have trainees different companies gather to compete, is that the groups that come out of them are considered “temporary” or project groups. The contract terms for these types of groups are much shorter than a typical K-pop groups (usually 2 1/2 years vs 7 years) and disbandment after the contract is up is almost always a given because you essentially have multiple companies “assets” (the members) in play and most would want their guy to return to form their own groups so it’s hard to discuss a contract extension. The only group I’ve seen that came off a show like this who has successfully gotten a contract extension/renewal is Kep1er (Girls Planet 999) who had 7 of the 9 girls’ companies agree to it.
The show that TO1 was formed, World Klass I believe brought in a bunch of trainees who didn’t come from other companies so the final group was meant to have a long term contract but of course, they had a bunch of issues going on that they ultimately disbanded early.
I think AHOF is set to have a 2 1/2 year contract. If they’re successful, they can try to have their companies discuss an extension, but that means getting I believe 5 different companies on the same page (Juwon + Chih En are under the same company, Woongki, Jeongwoo, Park Han don’t have a company) not to mention Steven and JL technically both have groups to return to. So it’ll be hard but again, not impossible.

I’m probably going to add to this as I watch.
In terms of line up this has been the most unpredictable but also most predictable final group ever. We didn’t know how many guys were going to debut or how the final line up was going to be chosen, most of the time, the survival shows tell you episode 1 how many are debuting. But at the same time, we all knew Rhythm was going to dominate when it came to global votes, we knew Woongki and Park Han were front runners in their teams. So as soon as Jay Park told us the number of guys were going to be in the final group, we basically knew the line up. And honestly, I think this is the best outcome of the show. Again, I did kinda like that the guys going in to the finale weren’t just fan picked but a handful of them were picked by the directors too.
As for the live vocals, I’m sure they have the backtrack turned up to 100+ for all the performances. They do seem to do that for live Finales of survival shows. I think it’s just to create a more seemless show and give the crew and performers one less thing to worry about.
I think of all the directors, Changsub has definitely been the most involved with his team. He really did carve out time to actually get in there and work with them. But also I think of all the directors, he has the most experience in the industry and runs a school so he knows how to teach. That’s not to say the other directors didn’t do anything since we only see a small segment here and there of their interactions. Plus we don’t know the schedules the directors themselves have in between all the filming.
Yes the cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos are the best. So addicting lol
So sidenote, I took a day off of work to watch the finale and I fell asleep watching it live, I think not long after Beat performed Sunset in the Sky and woke up again during their 2nd performance. I didn’t know how much I missed until now watching it with you that I apparently missed the entire Charming point segment lol
I have to say, EL CAPITXN did a good job t showing his range when it comes to producing songs and Team Beat did well showcasing them. Sometimes when you hear songs from specific producers they start to sound similar. He basically dipped in to a wide variety throughout the show and we got to see Team Beat in many different concepts.
In terms of Teamwork, I still think Rhythm had it the best throughout the show. They know how to work together well and know who to turn to for what aspect they need to work on. And I feel like Steven just naturally lead them and they followed.
Ok now on to the final members:
1. JL - I think we’d all be shocked if he didn’t make it in. We knew from the moment Mr Patchwork walked in that he was going to be in the finals. And he’s proven to be an all rounder with Dance, Rap, Vocals, and just captivating the audience.
2. Steven - He’s a natural leader, I’d be surprised if he doesn’t become leader of the group. Also very hardworking and a well rounded performer too.
3. Shauibo - Asian Prince with magical pockets. He really is a different person from how he was portrayed on Boys Planet. His duet with Woongki really sealed it for me. I hope he gets to show his vocals like that in the group.
4. Juwon - Our adorable baby tiger. Another well rounded performer. He really did level up when he went to Groove.
5. Chih En - I’m drawn to his awkwardness. But he does perform well on stage with or without the face-choreo. I’ve seen so many clips of him pulling tissues out of his pockets during the finale and passing them around to everyone, it’s hilarious. like “I may not show my emotions, but these guys sure do, I need to prepare”
6. Jeongwoo - He was one of my favs early on and I had him on my radar. I honestly didn’t think his odds of debuting were great until Rhythm took him (because of the whole likelihood of teams debuting). But I’m happy with him. He’s also improved so much that you forget he only just started training before the show.
7. Daisuke - Our Cute Maknae. Admittedly, he wasn’t one of my picks but I do like him.. He performs well and has a star quality to him. So I’m sure he’ll be fine in the group.
8. Woongki!!! I’m so so happy he made it in. He’s shown time and time again how much he genuinely enjoys performing and being an idol. Plus he’s hilarious and would do great on variety shows.
9. Park Han - The universe League Main Vocalist. His vocals are going to be KILLER in their music. Like that one comment said, he no longer has to perform in front of a mirror. I’m so happy.
Anyways, thank you for watching this show and giving your thoughts and comments throughout. They were very informative but also just interesting to hear. I like how unbiased you are and very understanding that there’s is a certain expectation for how these guys should perform but at the same time, they’re not going to be perfect 100% of the time and that’s ok.
If you want to check out other survival shows, I do think Boys Planet is a good one and has a lot of good performances (aside from some overly dramatic edits). Thanks again!

What you said about Changsub is actually spot on. Changsub also alloted them outside filming to have lessons with Groove. Even with the Behind the Scenes, Changsub's eats with Groove.
Changsub really has a passion for teaching. He once said that his final destination as a singer is to help and guide the future generation of singer so they can be more skilled than him.
Also a side note that Changsub wore the bracelet Groove made for him during the finals and he was showing it to the audience during the vcr time so proudly.
Also Groove team feels like a family to me, they even had a team dinner just now with Changsub 🥺
Also the sbs camerawork was crazily bad for Groove during the sign language people were upset about it too on X.
Another side note 😭 Heejun is the CRIER in Groove, he's the only F and the whole team are T (MBTI). Han shared earlier since they were together to celebrate Kenta's birthday in advance (they went to a fan cafe project for Kenta), so Han said that during their last practice of the 2nd song(the one with the sign language) Heejin cried for 10 mins because it's their last practice 😭 and they had to comfort him to continue practicing 😭😭
Groove Team will have a special place in my heart. Their songs just resonated with be so well throughout the show. I've always said this but this show got some great talents that at the end of the day we all come down to supporting based on our preference. I am and will always be a ballad/vocal heavy group girlie, that's why Groove is the team for me.
I will be rooting for Han (and Jeongwoo my ex groove kid) in their new group, and I will patiently wait for a good news hoping that the rest of Groove Team gets to debut together too 🥺💚

Warning: Long post ahead 😅
What I'm gonna miss the most are the behind the scenes showing the trainees' interaction. I love that they all seem to truly adore each other, no toxic environment, very minimal drama etc (except for one time when Kyungho slinked back to their locker room when Wongki passed down the hall and joked around with other Groove members there).. the trainees were always spreading mischief 😅 they loved teasing JL and the other maknaes..
What made me really love Rhythm (aside from JL of course) is their bond and energy, from what I saw they were the most chaotic team (in a good way) in the league, always having fun..I can't wait for their behind the scenes as AHOF, I'll definitely continue supporting them. I'm sure other fans will too.. They are already organizing local and global fan clubs from what I saw on X, tiktok and FB.
JL's chinese fans are on another level though 😅 There was a post on Weibo during the voting period that a Filipino fan translated saying they were recruiting members for the fanbase and also volunteers who will handle social media accounts, public relations, etc complete with qualifications 😅
Accdg to Filipino Kpop fans, chinese fans are very serious in supporting their favorite idols, they devote a lot of time and spend serious amount of money..
There's the Japanese fans too. There's this Japanese youtuber who loves JL, she reacts to different Korean survival shows, and I think it's safe to say (from what I saw in the comments, thanks to google for the translations😂) that they are excited to welcome the boys in Japan...
I truly hope for every single trainee in UL to have a bright future ❤️
All the best to you too, we appreciate you 🥰

OMG COMPLETELY AGREE !! I was REALLY TRYING to handle my emotions and I'm shocked myself..... haha.. Let's say you were able to cry for the both of us haha. ANd I am SO HOPEFUL that we will get a lot of people that we wanted to see succeed here go on to Boys Planet 2... That would be so freaking sick and I know the final lineup of AHOF would appreciate having former teammates to do challenges with at the broadcasting stations . Such a joy to watch this and I'm happy we got the finish and finale that we wanted!!!!

Okay this might be a bit long so I apologise haha. Firstly on the episode:
- Sirin had food poisoning. He was rushed to hospital and luckily has already mostly recovered <3
- The name is wild but honestly most Kpop group names are lol. We just get used to them and then they don't seem so strange haha
- Very predictable final from about episode 3 when we realised they wouldn't trade the #1 players haha. Very much for the best though because the majority are happy and because of how talented and lovely these guys were we were really rooting for all of them.
- The camerawork has been shocking! I felt sick watching Tag. I really wanted to see the choreography but they just kept zooming in and out and jostling around all over the place and like you said, not focussing on the sign language choreo felt super disrespectful.
- The charm segments were hilarious, I laughed so hard during that bit and again when they were reading fan comments and Kyungho mentioned Heejun crying and then it switched to him bawling. Heejun is such a sweet emotional boy haha
- You did an amazing job not crying. I lost it during so many moments. When Steven broke down I was full on crying a river haha
- Also your subs didn't show it but right at the ned Jay Park says "I only made one mistake today Let's Go" which made me laugh
On the series in general I think the Filipino vote was always going to secure Rhythm's win which they probably should have predicted lol (though in their defence Filipinos will only support a very talented Filipino). I do think other things that may have hurt the other teams chances though was what was focussed on when they showed each team.
The RHYTHM focus was always their great teamwork, comraderie and friendships. We learned a lot about each player as an individual and the relationships they had with each other. We knew from the beginning that Steven was a great leader, that JL and Juwon had a close friendship and coached the team in vocals and dance respectively, we saw Shuaibo the prop master befriend Chih En and become close. It was always about them as both individuals and as a team and so you immediately felt like you already knew them.
The GROOVE focus was often at how great a mentor Changsub was. He was so amazing but I wonder if maybe they focussed on him a bit too much. It took a lot longer and a lot more of the BTS content to find out what the members personalities were like.
The BEAT focus was on the drama for the first half- firsrstly with teamwork and then Woongki and Kyungho. We finally got to see them as an amazing team but it may have been too little too late.
I'm happy though. Steven and Park Han, my two Siren boys, are in. Jiang Fan and Li Zhinuo are likely going to be on Boys Planet 2 and I'm hopeful my last Siren boys Hyotae and Koo Hanseo will also pop up there or on something else. What a ride! Thank you for watching with us, you've been amazing!
