Update: July 2, 2022 - seconds, seconds

I swear this day late update thing isn't going to be a trend, I was just enjoying a bit of crunch to get the video out the door. I ran into a few speed bumps toward the end of the edit process that really put a drag on things, but fortunately it didn't take too long to get over them. looking for Thargoid footage from the older elite games was like searching for Atlantis. anyway, onto business.

next up

about a minute after I laid down after publishing the video I had a Jimmy Neutron brain blast. I thought of a really interesting way to frame and examine the communities around the city of New Vegas (Freeside, Westside, North Vegas Square, etc.), and I'm actually so jazzed about the idea that I don't want to spoil it. not yet anyway. it's one of those ideas where you have to immediately google it to see if anyone has done it before. lucky for me, nobody has.

in the "epic twitch haha funny moments" video zone, I'm not actually sure what would be next there. cursed halo was fun, but I don't know that it was interesting enough to be a full video. I still have my local recording of when xDeathdoodle and I watched Dragonball Evolution, and that could make for a pretty solid if unusual video. though I'll have to look into whether or not youtube would obliterate it. perhaps it could live as a patron exclusive video, should that be the case.

a slightly further future video idea

since I don't properly "review" games in the traditional sense, I've mulled over the idea of just doing 1 video at the end of the year that "briefly" reviews all of the games I played that year. I do get questions fairly often on what I think of X game that I played (in totality), but that's usually just on stream and usually my answer is something vague and not very thought out like "it was good". I basically did this in a Medium post at the end of 2021, but it was kinda half-baked and reading is for nerds anyway.

it could also be a nice opportunity to expand more on stuff I couldn't get to in games that I've already made videos on. for example, I didn't really talk about my co-op experience in my Elden Ring video - despite the fact that at least half of my time in that game was spent playing co-op.

of course these videos would also have the benefit of time; more time to let the brain stew, more perspective on lasting impressions, etc. I could even give them numeric ratings out of 10 or something, which might be handy to distinguish the other commentary/analysis I do from a review. the title would probably be something kinda cheeky like "brave's annual performance index (2022)" or some such. your feedback and thoughts are, as always, welcome.
