Update: August 1, 2022 - this one

ring-a-ding. frankly, the last 2 weeks haven't been as productive as I'd have liked (for a variety of boring personal reasons I won't get into). still, while it feels inaccurate to say that things "got done", some things did get somewhere.

a video, and a not yet video

the video about New Vegas has made decent progress, but the script still isn't quite where I want it. much like the alien video, I've done quite a bit of reading for it which has resulted in a lot of time spent hmmm-ing and haaa-ing. I find that the deeper I go into the various rabbit hole topics I come up with, the harder it gets to accurately talk about them without sounding obnoxiously collegiate. I suppose it kinda comes with the territory in doing commentary on weird esoteric shit like I do, but it still annoys me.

on the brighter side, I have fully committed to doing a year-end review video. I've already written the segments for Elden Ring, Kentucky Route Zero, and Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe. it'll be a fun time, trust me. here's a grand ol' list of other games that will be included:

most of these games didn't come out this year, but these videos will really just be an excuse to talk about games. the vague yearly theme is just in reference to when I got around to playing them. in the case of games I've already made videos about, I'll only include them if I feel like I have more to say outside of said videos. hence, Elden Ring will be there, but Outer Wilds probably won't be.

meta question

is 2 updates per month too frequent? would these be better as a single, juicier, monthly update? I worry that as my projects take longer to finish that the best updates I'm capable of giving are becoming "yeah I'm still working on it", which works better as a tweet than a paragraph.

I don't know. if you're all content with these updates, then there's no reason to change them. maybe it doesn't really matter. maybe I'll have soup for dinner.

If you think that once a month updates are better for the content cycle, I’m for it, however I get your content isn’t something you can always have a consistent turnaround with. Every two weeks or so gives us the advantage of ignoring fixating on one particular project and seeing the bigger picture, which is something I like
