I Don't Love You (Demo)

Hey guys, here's an interesting demo of "I Don't Love You" for your ears only 🎧☺️

The final version, quite different, was included on my album Osito, released in September 2022, but this arrangement and the song have been in my music vault for years.

I wrote and recorded the first version of this song in 1994, and the arrangement is very similar to the one you can hear here. I even performed this version at some live shows. The lyrics were different, only the title and a few lines of the lyrics remained when I tried to make it work again in September 2015 when I started writing material for Songs For A Better Future. I liked the arrangement, Jose liked it too, but the lyrics didn't really work, so I wrote a new version, then another, then Jose wrote a version of the lyrics himself, then I wrote another... it just didn't work, so it didn't make the cut for Songs For A Better Future.

I kept the song in the vault until the end of April 2022, when I re-recorded some of the instruments and did the arrangement you can hear here. Then I rewrote the lyrics and they seemed to work better. I recorded this demo on May 5th and finally included the song in the repertoire for the Osito album. But then it was the arrangement that didn't quite work, so on July 15th of that year I completely remixed the song (I don't think I kept anything from that arrangement) and that's the version you can hear on the album.

I have a cute idea for a video that I hope to be able to film one of these days. It was planned for March last year, but then I had a lesion on my Achilles heel that made me limp until November (I'm still recovering, but now it's less noticeable and I can dance again, but carefully 😅). But I still want to do it. Let's hope I can. Have a nice day 😘 ❤️
