Last month got away on me a bit, so today Iโm posting the two maps that are being released as part of the โRelease the Krakenโ thing that we do every month. Because of the awesome support on Patreon for my work, we take two maps every month and re-release them under our free commercial license.
Last monthโs selections are Thunderhead and Headquarters โ both very recent non-commercial releases.
Thank you again for your support that made re-releasing these commercially a viable reality.

Not all towns and cities are built along rivers, trade roads, and baysโฆ Some boast the most spectacular scenery they can find, and in Thunderheadโs case, if the scenery isnโt good enough, the whole city travels to somewhere with even better views.
Thunderhead is built on magically resistant and strong โcloudstuffโ. Once the domain of cloud giants and their kin, the city is now mostly populated by humans with a smaller population of avariels along with a number of aarakocra clans that nest beneath the city in the cloudstuff itself.
Chancellor Zamhatos, a potent sphinx storm sorcerer, doesnโt so much rule the city as maintain peace through threat of power and a network of favours and information that flows out from him to the major families in the cloud. A number of churches to most of the sky gods and stormy powers can be found in Thunderhead, and the city is considered a plum assignment by most associated clergies.
Also, if you like this map, Deven Rue has a beautiful hand-coloured version available at Rue Ink for her patrons.

โWe found this place just sitting there in the wastelandโฆ and wastelands being wastelands, we moved in because it was fairly defensible and gave us some cover from the storms and sun. But for some reasonโฆ everyโฆ singleโฆ villainโฆ wants to take the place over, move in, and run their evil army from here. Running a small anarcho syndicalist commune from a giant skull is a lot more perilous than youโd think!โ
