While painting with acrylics, I made a small discovery about technique.
I’ve only ever used transparent watercolors before, so I’m still inexperienced with acrylics. I haven’t quite grasped the characteristics of the paint yet, and I often end up applying it thinly, as if it were watercolor.
To fix that, I sometimes forced myself to paint thickly, but it was hard to control and often led to frustration.

This time, I started by applying the paint very thinly, and gradually layered more on top, only building up thickness in areas where it was really needed—and it came together surprisingly well.
