Channel Update - February 2024 - New video in March

Hi there! How are you? It was a very productive month for the channel and here is why.

GTA SA - Cut and Changed content [Part 1] (WIP name)

If nothing goes wrong this video will be released in the first half of the next month. Right now I am doing some final corrections and improvements before showing it to my focus group. And, as always, here is a teaser for you.

As you can see, it will be around 22 minutes and this will be the first time in 9 years when I am not doing Russian translation. For English speaking viewers it means that my videos from now on will be released by around a month faster than usual. As for the video, don't won't to spoil much. You will see everything quite soon in an early access.

Can't say that it was an easy job to make it. I made a lot of CLEO scripts to make the story telling better. I recompiled "main.scm" tons of times to show you the small differences. I made the visuals appealing. Overall it looks very close to my previous video where I talk about the cut mission "Impounded". Sometimes I think that I doing too much for a video, but this is my vision. I am very lucky to know how to make CLEO scripts and understand leaked mission scripts. I can make changes by myself. I can show you the scenes and leftovers in-game. I do not need to ask anyone to prepare it. Of course, I am not a guru in scripting, but I can do some basic stuff, which helps me a lot. I hope, you will be pleased with the results.

Doing only English video from now on

Back in December I decided to stop working on my Russian channel and announced a closure on it. The reason for that was simple. I completely lost a motivation to work on translations. It is hard to explain, but when you don't see a growth of your channel, you start to lose an interest to invest time and effort in it. It becomes mental a torture. You work on something day and night thinking that it won't be watched so much.

Before 2023 my main channel "Vadim M." was a multilingual channel. It was a bad decision from the beginning. YouTube was never a multilingual channel friendly platform. It doesn't know how to properly promote your videos and it usually recommends to watch one in a language you don't even know.

The broken promotion thing was always a problem, but back then I thought that I won't do YT forever, so no need to change anything. Sad fact. I wanted to quit YouTube in 2019 and even prepared a long speech for that occasion. I still have it in Patreon drafts, no joke.

Didn't do it, because I was always thinking maybe I will do it a little bit more even today.

But anyways, something had changed in YouTube and Russian viewers started to decline. The platform tried to promote Russian videos more, but since the whole thing was broken, it didn't work much. I also noticed that it didn't promote English videos so active too. Tons of misclicks and my channel started to decrease in views. This is when I made a decision to migrate Russian community to a new channel. In my opinion, it went flawlessly. I think, I saved my main channel by doing so. But then I realized that it is so freaking hard to achieve on my Russian channel at least the same results as I previously had on my main channel.

After doing my research I suddenly realized that it is impossible to grow a new channel by releasing one video in 3-4 months. Older videos I re-uploaded weren't receiving so many views. Feeling no reward, I decided to stop fighting for it. YouTube is a huge arena where in order to survive you need to constantly make new content. The faster you make it, the better the results will be. My partnership manager was always telling me that. In other words, I saved my main channel, but "ruined" Russian community. I can't make more videos and faster, because I am not in that age anymore. I have a full time job and other things to do. I am not that crazy to do YouTube only.

Why did I write all of this? Well, sometimes I said in the past that I won't do YouTube forever. This might be the first step. Second, English videos will be release a little bit faster.

As always, thank you for watching and supporting me. I hope to see you soon.
