Chapter 27

Kanae was given no choice to explain himself. The Knight of Silver, Estaline, the powerhouse of an adventurer she was, cut down the many summoned undeads that Edina raised, and the entangling vines from Arenade's Plant Growth couldn't even be considered nuisances to her.

"What's it got to take to convince you that Kanae isn't a threat?" Edina growled.

"Worry not. I shall free you two from her control soon enough." Estaline approached unhindered.

"None of us are being controlled!" Arenade shouted, then grabbed a handful of Kanae's robes to shake him to his senses. "You have to get out of here! She won't hurt me or Edina, so we'll try to hold her back while you do."

Where would Kanae even go? There was a dragon out here somewhere, and another dragon right in front of him who could probably catch up in an instant.

Manabe and Ichi stepped between them and Estaline, stopping the knight in her tracks.

"Go, Kanae! Having sex with you was the best thing to ever happen to me. If I die making sure you survive, then it will be worth it," Ichi said.

"I'm scared shitless, but… This must be how it feels to sacrifice yourself for someone you love! If we somehow survive, I want to have sex with you again!" Manabe exclaimed, trembling as he faced the much stronger Estaline down.

"You guys…" Kanae was touched, but their phrasing made him roll his eyes. "I might have teared up if you didn't add the sex part."

"So, you have controlled even an orc and minotaur to your side. Brave as you all are, the might of you four combined cannot stop a drakeling. Understand that I take no pleasure in this." Estaline raised her greatsword high above her head as Kanae's friends stood their ground.

Despite being given the opportunity to escape, Kanae refused to. He didn't want to leave his companions nor could he expect them to get hurt in his place.

"Stop, stand down!" Kanae charmed the four of them to drop their weapons and cease any spells in their hands, then have them move away.

"K-Kanae… what are you doing?" Arenade asked through gritted teeth, trying vainly to resist the charm's effect.

"You guys are important to me. If you were to get hurt because of me, I wouldn't be able to forgive myself. Besides, we made a deal for you to be my sexual battery," he teased the demigoddess.

With his friends safely out of the way, Kanae faced Estaline alone.

"You're honorable for a demon. Succubi like you would have sent an entire mind-controlled army to battle instead, Estaline said, not letting her guard down.

Earlier, the knight had declared that a succubus was more dangerous than a dragon. Could it be that he was actually an incredibly powerful subrace and class than some cannon fodder demon?

"You probably have little reason to believe someone like me, but I really mean no harm. I haven't drained anyone who wasn't willing. All I want to do is enjoy this body of mine and the pleasures it has to offer."

"Spoken like a true succubus. Though I sense some semblance of truth in your words, I cannot allow your kind to roam freely about—"

A shift in movement in the smoldering forest caught Estaline's attention, enough that she took her attention off Kanae. It was too fast for him to follow with his own eyes, but the knight's gaze darted in every direction. She swung the sword when something shot out, cutting a monster in half. The two halves made a splat on the ground, and he saw now that it was a mana-vamp starfish just like the one from the egg.

There were more in the forest?

Dozens more jumped out to attack Estaline, and she defended herself against the barrage until one latched onto her face. Dropping the sword in an attempt to wrench it away, the other starfish monsters seized the chance to swarm in.

"Now's our chance!" Kanae dropped the charm spell on his party and shouted. "Let's get out of here!"

They picked up Takumi and their stuff to make a run for it out of the forest. However, Kanae stopped at the edge of the clearing. He turned around to witness Estaline on the ground, pulling hopelessly at the monsters.

"Kanae, what are you doing? Let's book it before more show up!" Edina yelled.

"Yeah, leave that bitch! She was going to kill you anyway," Arenade said.

"Damn it…" Kanae cursed under his breath. "I-I don't want to leave her! You guys go first!"

Instead of escaping with them, Kanae raced back to Estaline who, while surrounded by the many dead monsters she managed to kill, was being mobbed by just as many on her body. Fire gushed out between the cracks in the starfish's legs at her mouth, which he quickly realized was her attempts to use a flame breath to kill it. Unfortunately, the monster was absorbing the attack and turning the magic into crystals. She eventually collapsed to her hands and knees from exhaustion, seemingly accepting the fate that was about to befall her.

"Oh, god… dealing with one was crazy enough. Here it goes…" Kanae stripped naked and casted a Turn Horny spell.

Sensing a new source of magic, the horde of starfish monsters attacked Kanae all at once. They latched onto his body to penetrate his mouth, crotch, even his ass for the first time, and one on each engulfing his breasts, gangbanging him to feast on his magic.

Their attack, however, only lasted as long as a premature ejaculator and wasn't enough to bring Kanae to climax despite the quadruple assault on his senses. He drained them dry, leaving behind dried starfish husks.

"You… saved me?" Estaline asked, trembling where she laid and still weakened from being drained by the starfishes.

"We got off on the wrong foot. Why don't we get to know each other first before fighting?" Kanae suggested, then placed a mana potion next to her.

The forest had stopped burning. On the opposite side of the clearing, a number of adventurers were pushing past toppled trees and debris to come this way.

Kanae was about to leave until Estaline snatched his hand to hold him still. After a pause, she let go and sighed.

"Go," Estaline said, then shoved him back. "Before my party sees you, hurry!"

Shaking the surprise that Estaline had let him go, Kanae grabbed his robe and took off running. He found his party a short sprint away beyond a narrow creek and hiding behind an overgrown mushroom stalk.

"Thank my holy self, you're okay— er, why are you naked and sticky?" Arenade grimaced.

"What happened? Did Estaline really let you go?" Edina asked.

"I… I think so," Kanae said, then shuddered when something slimey rubbed between his buttcheeks. He pulled off a starfish monster that wasn't completely drained to death and threw it to the ground.

Instead of outright killing it, Edina proposed they trap it and bring it back to the city. Someone might have an answer as to why this monster was invading the forest. Although Kanae already suspected as much and had the culprit in mind, he hoped to learn why Renya was putting these everywhere. It was also his responsibility for having had a hand in their propagation, too.

While successful in escaping the forest, the group of mixed races came to another problem once Orturic was within sight. Three members within their party couldn't show their faces.

Takumi, Manabe, and Ichi stood at the edge of the forest, too afraid to step out of the canopy's shade.

"You're going back into the city, right? I guess this is where we part ways," Ichi solemnly remarked.

"As if! You guys still owe me money from our card game the other night. I'll be coming around to collect my due, so try not to bite the dust until then." Edina grinned.

"Uh, yeah… I still can't look any of you freaks in the eyes after getting flashed by your dicks, but you have my respect for sticking up to Kanae back there— for sticking it in him, too." Arenade couldn't hold back from cracking that joke when it presented itself.

The two of them headed back into Orturic first to give Rosaline the mana-vamp starfish, leaving Kanae alone with his friends from home.

"S-So… " Kanae pressed his fingers together, blushing up as it dawned on him how much sex they had back in the cabin. "It would be really weird if we went back to Earth after this, huh?"

They reacted the same way, rubbing the back of their heads and scratching their noses out of embarrassment. The group of friends silently acknowledged that the line had been crossed, and there was no going back. Each of them had discovered the joys of sex with Kanae, and Kanae had likewise discovered the burning, lustful passion an orc, minotaur, and goblin could unleash on him. He was even the one to have taken their virginities, and gazing at each of them, he realized, must have stoked deeper feelings than just sexual desire.

Well, boys were quicker to fall in love and being wanted this way wasn't so bad.

"We're probably going to stay in the forest. Maybe shack up in Edina's cabin once those guys are gone," Ichi said.

"W-Will you visit us?" Manabe asked sweetly despite his lumbering size.

"Of course! We can talk about old times again, just hang out, and… maybe do more." Kanae winked, shooting a cupid's arrow into each of their hearts. He was beginning to wonder if living in Orturic was the right call. There were other cities in this world. It would be nice to find a place to live, away from the threat of demons and civilization's scrutiny for being monster races.

Before leaving, Kanae gave them each a hug, but pressing his breasts to their chests raised more than just their affection levels. As a goodbye gift, he sucked the three off until they were satisfied, commiting to memory the shape and taste of their cocks to have something to look forward to next time.

Back in Orturic, the city was in a state of subdued calm. Word spread fast that the dragon had set fire to a portion of the forest. Estaline and her party haven't returned yet, and Kanae was worried about whether it was safe to stay here or not now that she knew his identity. Since she had let him go, did that mean she believed him?

Thinking back to how Estaline was being dominated by those monsters, lying exhausted in the dirt, breathing heavily, and face caked with sweat, made Kanae wish it was he who had put her in that position.

Not good. Now wasn't the time to be horny.

Kanae shook the lewd thoughts away and raced to Rosaline's atelier, where Arenade and Edina had presented the mana-vamp starfish to the alchemist. The monster was trapped in a large jar, and it seemingly couldn't escape no matter how hard it smashed against the glass.

"Good timing. Rosaline was just about to tell us about what this thing is," Arenade said.

"There were a lot of them in Turic. Any idea why they would be there?" Kanae asked her.

"Well, the answer is obvious. Someone had to have put them there. These monsters are very dangerous. It doesn't matter what level you are, their vampiric nature saps your strength. In fact, the higher level you are, the harder it is to break free because consuming your experience is how they grow stronger," Rosaline explained to their shock.

"Edina said these are pure, crystallized magic." He pulled a blue, finger-sized jewel collected from one of the monsters. "What exactly do they do?"

The alchemist continued, "Exactly what they are supposed to do. The mana-vamps transform drained experience into magic crystals which can be used in alchemy, enchanting, crafting… all sorts of applications! The problem is, owning one or raising the beasts is highly illegal precisely because they are parasites. Punishable by death, mind you!"

The trio gulped.

It was a good thing they went straight to Rosaline.

"Say… due to their illegality… would you say these are worth a lot of gold?" Edina asked, her greed showing in the form of drool.

"Oh, very much. Very, very much!" Rosaline nodded. "I would be happy to take this live specimen off your hands in exchange for 100 grand."

"ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND?!" they screamed together.

Arenade and Edina squeaked.

"Back at the cabin… th-there was one… two…" Edina started counting off how much gold they could have earned from capturing them alive instead of killing them.

Just what in the world was Renya trying to do with these expensive monsters? Certainly not sell them, otherwise she and her crew wouldn't leave them lying around. Maybe the answer was the crystals.

With no reason to keep the mana-vamp starfish and risk being caught with it, they sold the monster to Rosaline for the fat paycheck. Kanae was surprised, however, to receive what appeared to be a banknote instead of gold coins this time around.

"Is this… a bill?" Kanae asked.

"You wouldn't be able to walk with 100,000 gold coins, would you? These banknotes can be exchanged at any adventurer's hall or bank. Now, shoo. Shoo! My tail is itching to see what I can do with this monster." Rosaline ushered them out the door.

They returned to the adventurer's hall at last and deposited the check with Sara's help. Though Edina wanted to cash it out all at once, Arenade and Kanae managed to convince her against it, and the trio settled on drawing out only an amount of gold they needed. After what felt like ages, they were able to dine like royalty without fear of going broke.

"Aaahhhh! We could have made over a million if we brought the rest back alive!" Edina wailed, four large mugs of beer deep into drinking and red like a tomato.

Arenade finished the rest of her glass of expensive wine and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Kanae asked.

"With all this money to spend, I'm going to the bath house on the other side of town. I hear they have illusory magic for private baths that can turn into any place you want, so I'm going to splurge." On her way out, she stumbled right into Estaline who entered the hall with her party.

The demigoddess staggered back, and Kanae froze in his seat.

Estaline met his eyes, nodded once, then apologized to Arenade for bumping into her and shuffled past to head upstairs.

"She… She totally knows you're a succubus, doesn't she?" Edina whispered.

"Yeah," Kanae said. "But I think we're safe for now."
