Portland Convention This Weekend!

This weekend, Aug 11-13th, is the Authors and Dragons Con in Portland, Oregon.

https://www.authorsanddragons.com/adcon

I'll be there with a bunch of Aster Fall swag and with a stack of paperbacks to sign from Friday to Sunday.

Come on by if you're around!

---

In scheduling news, Echoes of War is now edited and ready for release on August 18th on Kindle Unlimited.

I've been working on making hardback versions of the books and I have a proof coming my way from Amazon. Once it's ready, I'll put it up on Amazon starting with Book 6 and then I'll work my way back through the rest to update them all with hardback versions too.

River of Fate 3, Sunrise Alchemist, will start coming out here following the convention. I'm aiming for 3 or more chapters a week starting August 14th. I'll post the cover once it comes in.

For Book 7 of Guardian of Aster Fall, the current title is World Seal. It'll come out as soon as I finish River of Fate 3 here.

there were a couple of points where there was a word missing, but I don't remember exactly where. the one that sticks in my mind is that Verse uses Endless Dawn by name *before* he has the internal discussion about what he's going to call it.

Cultivation is a lot of fun, but it does take some getting used to. :) That's actually why I liked it so much. It was a different world view. Try Desolate Era by I Eat Tomatoes (the silly name thing is kind of a joke for Chinese web authors) or I Shall Seal the Heavens by Er Gen from the Wuxiaworld translation website. They've put those both on Kindle Unlimited. They're extremely long, like 1600 chapters. Cultivation web novels tend to ramble a bit, but I liked both of those.

Once I get them all arranged, I'll see about putting signed ones out, if you want those. I also ordered some bookplates (like a fancy sticker to sign and put into the book) that can go inside the front cover. I can send those in a normal envelope once they arrive, if you want them.

David North

Yep. There’s definitely stuff I would change, but it would take rewriting a lot of those two. Book 3 should be fun.

David North

So true. I did a round of proofreading on them a year or so ago, so hopefully most of the glaring stuff is fixed, but there are places where I would change the style, and there are probably still some typos too. Do you remember anything specific?

David North

I am so excited to see what you do with RoF3 as your writing style and ability has increased allot since you you wrote the first two books. I just finished re-listening to them in preparation for next book.

(also, fyi, books 1 and 2 could do with an edit)

Susan Borrer

I went ahead and read the two existing River of Fate books, which was fascinating because I've never read cultivation fiction and have no knowledge of the tropes, so I was massively out of my depth!! I still don't really understand a lot of the terms, but it's all good!

Susan Borrer

Brilliant, Aster Fall is a comfort read for me, and I like to have those in hardcopy.

Thanks for the update and enjoy the Con
