Reworking the Stats
Added 2017-02-04 21:46:46 +0000 UTCDoing a minor rework of the stats system today. I was using the Desire stat in what amounted to two different ways, one as a measure of arousal, the other as a measure of how willing Faith was to engage in sex with strangers. Originally, I made this a single stat in an effort to keep everything simple, but it's quickly proving unwieldly.
As such I'm splitting the Desire stat into Arousal and Inhibition. Arousal will govern how horny/aroused Faith is in-the-moment, and the higher it is the more willing she will be to do things. However, it will clear (or reduce) each time she climaxes. Arousal will be easy to raise, but will only help so much with each stat-gated event.
The Inhibition stat, on the other hand, will be much harder to gain, or rather lose as the case will likely be. Inhibition will govern Faith's long-term willingness, and control when she will be willing to try more extreme kinks, and with whom she's willing to try them. If she's at 100% inhibition she will be reluctant to do anything with anyone, even those she's on the best terms with, and even those fetishes which she's most inclined toward. On the other hand, if she has 0% inhibition, she'll do anything, with anyone, at anytime, excepting only where that activitiy would be grossly out-of-character with her current level of Dominance.
And...as I wrote that it made it sound more complicated than I was hoping. Hence why I'm fiddling with it rather than just making a simple change. I need to sort out how to make all of that so simple that it's obvious to everyone. Likely, most everything will go on in the background, and the player will only see something like:
"You need to be more Aroused to do that."
"You need to be less Inhibited to do that."
or in the event either would work:
"You need to be more Aroused or Less inhibited to do this action."
Eventually it might tie into the Relationship stats as well, but probably not at first. The Relationship stat is mostly there to govern how willing the NPC is to engage in an activity with you, rather than Faith's willingness. As such, I'll likely leave them unrelated until after I fine-tune the system(and get feedback from players).
