General Update

Good news everyone! For once I don't actually have any bad news. This is just something of a "state of the game" and "state of rewards" sort of update. 

First! The version 1.8 update, which is focused on Naomi's Café date, is coming along quite well. I already have roughly 25 renders (updates typically range between 40 and 70 new renders) for the date, and have the only new location largely sorted. My current projection is that 1.8 will release either at the end of this month, or in the first week of October. That, of course, is subject to change if I land a new job, or other life concerns crop up.

Second! Jaylee has an idea for another short this month, so the monthly reward for $5+ Patrons should, once again, be a short story. That's a bit tentative, given how much trouble she was having previously, but we're hopeful that will be the case for this month's reward.

Third! Right after I post this, I'm going to be creating a post that will grant access to old rewards to the $1 patrons, as per the new plan I outlined last month. The only change is going to be that I've decided to keep a two month gap on release between the $1/$5 reward tiers. That is to say, new rewards will only go into the archive that $1 patrons can access after 2 months have passed.

Technically, I should have done that last bit at the beginning of the month.  Between being a bit busy...and really hoping that the Patreon would finally grant me the ability to use the "charge up front" option, I had put it off. To be honest, I'm a tiny bit bitter with Patreon for not making that option available to all. As to why? Because I usually get less than half of what you see listed as patronage each month. The other half is money 'promised' from people who are cheating the Patreon system to get rewards without ever actually paying anything. It's essentially theft, and that pisses me the hell off. Thankfully, it seems to have dropped off when I turned my Patreon page into a tip jar. Apparently most of the system-cheaters were purely after the early access to the game. I actually got nearly 3/4 of what was promised this month, which while not the highest amount ever, is at least the closest to the figure supposedly promised that I've ever gotten. And on that note...
