Added 2018-02-03 06:53:16 +0000 UTCI'm still having some issues with the clean-up of artwork -_-. On the left is the last 'rough' stage that I do. It's usually preceded by 2-3 steps of adding rough parts, starting from the head, then body, then clothing. The right is my current sad attempt at cleaning things up. Yes, quite a few of the lines are cleaner, and I made improvements (though the holster at least, needs at least one more pass), but other places are just as bad as the rough (or actually worse in the case of the right hand -_-).
Regardless, I'm actually REALLY happy with the way the head turned out. That may actually be the single best hair I've ever managed, for example. I'm mostly happy with the rest, though there's an oddity with the clothing.... It was actually supposed to be a SPACE pirate outfit, but ended up looking victorian...
I do actually know why that is. The anime outfit I modeled it after was in color, and without the color to provide reference for the materials and show the fact that those lines are really ridges rather than decoration... Well, the pure line art doesn't come out reading like the space pirate outfit I intended it to -_-. Which, since one of my major goals for this month is to get to the point that I can color all of this decently, will hopefully change and I can revisit it at that point :-).
