So, here's my second ever attempt at coloring, using Alice's concept art as a base. Significant improvement, I think, though the shadows/light is still slightly rough. I'm also trying to figure out a way to handle doing highlights for hair, but it might still be beyond my skill. What I did here, and it sorta-kinda worked, was alter the line color to suggest hair highlighting. I'd prefer the ability to genuinely do two-tone hair, though, so I might see if I can find some tutorials specifically for that.
Anyway, I'm actually happy enough with the result of this that I kinda wish I'd bothered to fix the line work issues (such as the holster still being F'ed up, and the bottom of the zipper being off-kilter). It would have been the first piece that I might have actually felt able to use if I'd made those corrections. Oh well, I was intending these experiments using the concept art to be throw away practice anyway, as far as coloring went.
Sadly, because I'm trying to finish up the Eros 2.0 update as quick as possible, I haven't had as much time to work on the Art Stuff as I'd have liked. Hopefully I don't regret that later.
P.S. Oh! And for those interested, her 'Cosplay' is based off some versions of the Queen Esmeraldas space pirate character. It's not an exact copy, and wasn't intended to be, but that's where the general idea was drawn from.
