Re: River teleporting Amy, you may have missed it but there was a damaged teleporter in the flight deck. River thought she could get it working to rescue the people they'd left behind, but the Doctor dismissed the idea, sure there wouldn't be enough time to fix it. It turns out that River was right on that one. Not a cop-out!

2019-01-09 06:05:36 +0000 UTCThe Amy thing at the end was an odd bit. It was kind of funny (and I think Karen Gillan must have drawn on her 'sketch show' background for it), but it was jarring. I tend to ignore that it happened at all. ;) I reckon Amy generally makes up for that crappy behaviour as a character.

The whole point of their design was that they turn to stone when you see them. The doctor says in the previous episode it's a "quantum lock" yet in this episode says "their instincts will kick it and assume you can see them". ermmm no that's not how it works lol

2019-01-08 22:27:23 +0000 UTCI love the bit where the Doctor throws the radio. He's trying to be analytical and logical, asking questions and searching for an angle (to use against an Angel ;) ), but what the Angel says in response just angers him so much he briefly loses it.

2019-01-08 11:36:30 +0000 UTCIt's always kind of bothered me that we see the angels move in this episode, because the mythology behind them is that no one knows what they look like since the moment anyone sees them they turn into stone statues. We have no idea what their true form could be, we only know it's very fast. And idk seeing them move has always been a little disappointing. But other than that I really enjoy this episode

I think Karen Gillan’s Performance is actively bad in places.
