I really enjoyed that, having not seen it since original broadcast. Meera Syal was great, I genuinely jumped in the graveyard when the Silurian was running around behind the little kid, and it is always nice to bring back an old-school bad guy. It does rip off the original 1970 story hugely though.

It’s also unusual in The Doctor making mistakes so early into the episode. The kid says he needs to go home (to get his earbuds. Seriously kid? You’re on the wrong show, walking dead is ——> that way). And the doctor is like “ok see ya.” Then later realizing it and his moment of silence before speaking up. Not something you see much of.

2019-01-19 20:49:01 +0000 UTCThe jaunty, compelling soundtrack enlivened some of the slower scenes. Nasreen is definitely companion material. "Excuse me, I'm making perfect sense. You're just not keeping up." This is not one of the episodes I re-watch frequently when I need a shot of Eleven, so it feels fresh and delicious watching it along with someone else.
