Arthur Darvill's performance in this episode w as amazing.

I can’t help but wonder why you’re bringing up 9 and 10 things? Their era is over no repeat faces.

Michelle747

"Unable to access document", but I can access the next one.

Stephen Ray

I first got into Doctor Who in 1992 - they were running a repeat season in which they did one story of each doctor. I would suggest doing something like that personally... and as for which stories I'd do, (I don't want to post any spoilers at all). 1st Doctor: An Unearthly Child (just because it's the very first - it's kind of essential in my eyes if you're going to do Classic Who. But I'd also do The Aztecs to get a real feel for what 1960s Who could be. 2nd Doctor: possibly The Web of Fear or The Mind Robber. 3rd Doctor: Spearhead From Space (or if you want something long and epic Inferno), 4th Doctor: Genesis of the Daleks; 5th Doctor: Caves of Androzani; 6th Doctor: Vengeance on Varos; 7th Doctor: Remembrance of the Daleks or Survival (or to be honest anything from Season 26 which I adore).

Mark Ward

River: "I hate good wizards in fairy tales. They always turn out to be him".

Hey FailWhale, I sent you a message with a possible Classic Who episode to react to. It is a bit long, so sorry man, hope you don’t mind the suggestion :)

Stonzy87

Personally I thought this was some epic TV and Doctor Who and Moffat close to their best. There are one or two episodes that top it here and there but as far as two parters go the set up here was perfect.

David Broome

If you do Classic that'd make two reactors I follow doing it, might motivate me to finally seriously watch more of it. If you don't want to do all of it, the recommendations already in this thread are good as far as I can tell, but I'd add Dalek Invasion of the Earth and maybe some Master storylines (not sure which).

Sachal Ali

Or the pandorica started opening because it was triggered when the doctor went down there (since it was built for him), which triggered the alert system and everyone came. It was all to entice the doctor, because he’s a magpie who likes shiny things, so the prophecy came from them too. He’s both the goblin and the wizard, it just depends on your perspective.

If you're thinking about classic Who, I would recommend doing more of a highlight reel of the series. Key stories, regenerations, companions entrance & exits, favorite stories. That would give you the jist of things without having to go through all 26 seasons. The serialized nature of the classic series has a very different feel than the modern series, but once you get into it, it's a lot of fun!

Trey Moore

For Old Who, I'd suggest you watch the first two episodes "An Unearthly Child" (4 parts) and mentioned above "The Daleks" ( a bit longer in 7 parts) from 1963. Both introduce the Doctor and the Daleks for the first time. If you decide to do a totally random episode though, I'd recommend "Genesis of the Daleks" as that might have a few familiar faces. Anyway do what you wanna do, and a great reaction as always man! Y

Brodie Vickers

Your reaction with the alliance and Amy getting blasted by Rory had me screaming at 2am! Fantastic reaction ! So glad I’m a patron now!

Note that the prophecy of the Pandorica was quite true. A nameless being who drops out of the sky and wrecks your shit? That's 100% the Doctor. They're clever to misdirect by immediately planting the idea in dialogue that the Doctor would instead be the wizard who beat the monster, but in hindsight it's quite obvious that he must be the "goblin". And sure enough, the goblin is tricked and sealed away into the perfect prison he can't escape from. Only thing is, everyone gathering for the Pandorica opening wasn't because the goblin was about to escape- it was because it was only just now time to put him in to begin with.

Sachal Ali

This is my favorite cliffhanger in the series, honestly. There's many others that come really close (the previous season and a couple from the more recent ones come to mind) but this is the peak. And it works largely because it escalates to the maximum after 5 seasons of escalation, so it's understandable that it really can't go any further at this point.

Sachal Ali

That’s one way to end the show, the entire universe explodes 😂

Pretty strong suspicion River blew up the tardis. Surprised the Daleks joined up, considering their plan last season

Oh, one more I forgot: Terror of the Autons. Third Doctor, is the first appearance of The Master.

Re: Reacting to Classic Who: The old show is formatted different from the new one, in that episodes are half-hour, and each story (aka as a 'serial') is made up of a BUNCH of episodes, usually 4-6, sometimes longer, occasionally shorter. It's also a lot slower-paced than modern Who (it was the 60s-70s, television was different back then), so it may not be all that well suited for your reaction format. If you do want to give it a shot, though, here's some suggestions for stories to watch (mind you, I've only seen a lot of the 3rd and 4th Doctor's era, with a smattering of the 1st and 2nd Doctor, so this is by no means a definitive list). The Daleks: The second-ever Doctor Who serial, and the first appearance of the Daleks. To be honest, it's not a particularly entertaining watch now, but it's pretty great to see how different the show was in the early days compared to what it would be even a few years later. Features the original companion team (Ian, Barbara, and the Doctor's granddaughter Susan). The Time Meddler: A First Doctor serial, the first story to feature another Time Lord (although that name hadn't been created yet). This is a really fun romp with an enjoyable antagonist. Tomb of the Cybermen: A Second Doctor serial, one of the few from his period that survives completely intact (a lot of old Doctor Who episodes had their original tapes destroyed after airing because of a very stupid BBC policy). Not an incredibly deep story, but a fun one. The Time Warrior: A Third Doctor serial, and the first appearance of both the Sontarans (who I can tell you love) and Sarah Jane Smith. Also features a bit of the Brigadier, a very important classic who character who was referenced in The Sontaran Stratagem and who'll be mentioned a few more times in the upcoming seasons. Invasion of the Dinosaurs: A Third Doctor serial, picking up right at the end of The Time Warrior. This serial has some HILARIOUSLY bad effects, but also is a great showcase of old UNIT (who were a very important part of old Who, especially in the 3rd Doctor's era) and the Brigadier. This is a really interesting story and Sarah Jane's role in it is GREAT. Just don't be afraid to laugh at the effects because, even by classic Who standards, they're bad. Also features the Whomobile, which is a hilarious thing that only cazme up like twice but needs to be seen to be believed. Robot: The very first Fourth Doctor serial. Some primo Tom Baker sass in this one, this story's really funny. Genesis of the Daleks: A fourth Doctor serial. This one's extremely famous, and for good reason. It tells the story of the Daleks's creation and is the first appearance of Davros, because the Doctor has been sent back in time to Skaro with the explicit mission to prevent them from ever being created. Really great stuff. The Ark in Space: A fourth Doctor serial. A slice of sci fi horror that works pretty well despite the low fi effects. This may have been an inspiration for Alien four years later. City of Death: A Fourth Doctor serial (mostly) written by Douglas Adams of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy fame. Features Romana, a younger Time Lord who traveled with the Doctor for a while. Really funny and well written. Whatever you choose to do, I believe these are all available on iTunes, and there's a streaming service called Britbox that has every surviving classic who serial available in Canada. Good luck!

classic watch the city of death it is such an amazing and funny episode

"Yo Dad, you think that's a Cyberman? " 🤣😂😂 that poor man

Christopher Nicholas

Do you remember when River said "I'll see you again when the pandorica opens" in I think episode 5?

Christopher Nicholas

It usually takes about an hour to work for me so I just download it

Christopher Nicholas

Link not working for me 😫😥

Ayyy thanks Tomi! :) enjoying quite a bit I nearly had to push aside the rest of my schedule for the day and watch the next one

Failwhale34

Thanks for the recommendations fam! And ahh cheers glad you enjoyed it :)

Failwhale34

I missed him a lot initially but Matt’s made the transition a lot smoother than 9>10 for me I like him, he’s layered, and mysterious (maybe it’s just me) ☺️

Failwhale34

Ahhh! Love these kinds comments seriously makes my day knowing ya’ll enjoying the videos and loving your fav shows even more along with ya boy ❤️❤️ appreciate ya :)

Failwhale34

My favorite two parter finale next to season 4

Yeah he would be fine, he won’t be spoiled

Oh my god, I can't believe how much stuff I've forgotten, I almost was as surprised as you! Watching with you is the first time I've rewatched since my first viewing of the show and I'm having SUCH a good time with it! This combined with the new season has made me fall in love with the show again<3

Lilly M.

I love this episode and what a cliffhanger! Amy dead, Rory is an alien construct, River in the middle of the exploding TARDIS and, in that final shot, every star going supernova and vanishing from history. Oh, and the Doctor is trapped in an impossible to escape from prison in ancient times, surrounded by thousands of ships worth of enemies. Get out of that one, Doctor Who!

Regarding “Old Who”, there are number of ways to go about watching it. You could start watching from the very beginning in the 1960s, or you could instead jump around and react to the edited highlights. There are pros and cons to both approaches and it depends on what you would prefer to do. Great reaction BTW!

This reaction is amazing dude! This is my favourite finale so I'm super happy you're loving it so far. And about Classic Who, I haven't actually seen it so can't really give my opinion on it.

Tomi A

Fantastic reaction!! In terms of classic who, I don’t know what to recommend. The only thing I suggest is watching the Doctor Who TV movie (1996 I believe) before the end of series 7, just as it helps you understand some continuity and stuff

Jack Warren

but yes failwhale you most definately shold react to Torchwood.... if you liked Jack... fun little tid bit of information, torchwood can spell doctor who as well just change the letters around a few times to get either way of spelling....

BtsOT79798

is he far enough along where there won't be any spoilers for either torchwood or doctor who??

BtsOT79798

You should react to torchwood

Do you still miss Tennant or have you grown to like Matt smith? - personally it took me a while to get over Tennant

oof did for a bit stops around 2:50 thanks for letting me know!

Failwhale34

Is it just me or did you leave the intro music running over the episode

Sachal Ali
