I love how much weight you were giving this thinking the Doctor might regenerate, when to most of fandom, it's really not a very popular episode at all. I personally loved this section just because I was very happy to see the back of Karen Gillan (controversial I know!)

First time I've seen this one, really enjoyed it.

Really would recommend The Three Doctors and The Five Doctors at some point. Well worth a watch. Adventures In Time And Space was really good, also recommend The Five(ish) Doctors. It's actually still on the BBC's website. 🙂

One comment I read on this post says you should watch An Adventure in Space And Time because it's a very good recreation of how Doctor Who started BTS. It's also something to watch before the 50th special and the Night Of The Doctor minisode which also comes before the 50th

Funny you think Clara gives off a Romana vibe. I’ve always thought that too. Back in 2013, all of the internet was wondering if she was actually Romana, Susan, or even The Rani (an evil female time lord). Interestingly, the fx artist had been making several different Alien molds in his spare time, which is how they got the marketplace scene, with around 50 aliens.... They wouldn’t have had the budget to do that otherwise. They had to create the rest of the episode around what could be made with limited resources (and a minimal amount of Matt Smith because he was busy with reshoots for a later episode)

I strongly urge you to react to Doctor Who Adventures in Space and Time. Around this time was the 50th anniversary of our Time Lord embarking on the first of many adventures.

I love this episode and loved your reaction to it! Get's me in my feels every time. Part of why DW is my favorite show is because when it does the emotional scenes it really goes for it and it pretty much never fails to get me there. Can't wait for more reactions. <3

Yeah, it can be a bit creepy with the grooming factor (Amy and River and now Clara) having met the Doctor as little girls. If it wasn't the Doctor, but some other adult man grooming little girls in this way, the creep factor would be up all the more. But that aside, this episode does have some nice bits in.

I love this episode. I over looked it a bit the first time I watched it I think. But during a pretty intense marathon second time around it hit me like hammer. I happened to be in the perfect frame of mind and it left me feeling like I'd enjoyed an episode of Who in way I'd never done before. The music of this episode became a feature of the BBC Proms in which Matt and Jenna appeared.

Failwhale34, the look on your face when you thought Eleven might regenerate was priceless. If current Clara becomes Dalek Clara in the future, where does Victorian Clara fit in? This really has the Doctor worried. It seems to me that Clara’s tempo– all the Claras – matches the Doctor’s in a way that Amy’s never did. Clara catches on fast. I loved that scene where Clara and the Doctor darted around the console of the TARDIS, away and toward one another, with Clara walking away to come up with the perfect answer and the Doctor waving his arms and cackling with delight.

I remember at the time in some Dr Who forums this episode drew some criticism 'came here to watch Dr Who, not some girl singing' - like did you not see that speech??? The images alone of him standing in silhouette facing off against the sun are stunning enough - add to that the dialogue, acting and soundtrack.

Another episode that's grown on me given time. Felt at the time like it took the writers a while to find Clara, except for Moffat. Might have just been missing The Pond era though. 🙂
