2019-08-11 01:37:33 +0000 UTCReally well acted villains this time
2019-06-13 18:29:06 +0000 UTCI love how he follows that with 'Brave heart...'

2019-06-12 21:13:22 +0000 UTCJust to add to that. The Temperance movement was huge in the North of England during this era. There were a lot of experimental communities, often started by business owners, whole villages and developments with well built workers' homes and teaching rooms, all wrapped up with incredibly strict rules about alcohol or moral hazards.

2019-06-12 20:17:43 +0000 UTCI like this episode. It's a lovely homage to British horror movies, and Gatiss throws in so many of the conventions, I love it. Also, I am from ....'the North'.... :p

2019-06-12 12:56:15 +0000 UTCPretty much, yeah. Gallifreyans basically are Jack of Trades, biologically speaking, meaning they aren't the best at something, but superior to the average in everything. They are literally superior to humans in every way, and are stronger than humans as well, on average. Basically their entire biology has been engineered by Rassilon to enable them to survive in almost every type of environment in the universe, at least to an extent, without specialized protective gear (including vacuum, for a time, at least)

2019-06-12 10:06:50 +0000 UTCI know that I am in the minority here but I absolutely love this episode. The mother/daughter story is so messed up and the acting so on point. The way the story is unfolds. That we get Vestra, Jenny and Strax. I think the leech is so disgusting. And I laugh a lot! It just pushes all the right buttons for me.

2019-06-12 06:42:00 +0000 UTCAnd congratulations on the Raptors. It was bizarre that parents at my kid's hockey team's BBQ were talking about basketball during the Stanley Cup Finals. We're in the Maritimes, so it's not just TO.

2019-06-12 02:44:49 +0000 UTCGreat reaction. It was both odd and classic. I think Diana Rigg and her daughter, playing the mother and daughter, pushed it over the top in to enjoyable.

2019-06-12 01:35:26 +0000 UTCOh, and the "gobby Australian" was a reference to the Fifth Doctor and his reluctant companion Tegan. She accidentally stowed away on the TARDIS on her way to starting a job at Heathrow and the Doctor was unable to really pilot the TARDIS that well back then. Logopolis might be a good classic episode to watch/react to one day. 🙂

2019-06-12 00:03:21 +0000 UTCSomeone noticed the Galvatron. 😮🙂 And it was Diana Rigg from Game Of Thrones. Doctor Who and Game Of Thrones actors cross over between the shows a lot.

2019-06-11 23:46:32 +0000 UTCHaha, I love this one, such a weird trip. My favourite Gatiss episode, he's into steam punk victoriana and this episode felt to me like him letting his odd loose, I wish all his eps were like this, & that he'd made a Patternoster spin off. Matt Smith is so on form here, his northern accent so amusing and when he calls Mrs Gillyflower nuts he really nails that moment. That's a G1 Galvatron Transformers Clara plays with at the end. You went to dragon secs really fast after hearing those noises in the episode, worrying 🤔 Cool glasses 👓

2019-06-11 22:43:41 +0000 UTCWatched this one recently. Like it more than when it first aired, but this and the next aren't that great for me. Next week though.... 😊

2019-06-11 22:36:50 +0000 UTCI'm always amused by Strax's dismay at the idea of going to ...the North
