If only these errors happened during the Tsuranga Conundrum!

Unfortunate about the audio! Fingers crossed we’re safe for the future episodes. I quite like this episode, although certain choices do make me confused, like the Doctor defending the system that just murdered an innocent girl. But hey, the designs are awesome!

I personally thought 11x1 moved really fast after the initial introduction. Ill have to go watch some earlier new who though because even this episode I dont think theres a single moment without music, not sure if its just because someone new is doing the music so it feels newer or if they are adding music as filled so it doesnt seem like any moment is slow or dull. Its definitely about automation though "they took our jobs" but honestly the concept of people getting a living wage because machines took most of the jobs just means we have more free time to enjoy life and our hobbies, Right now I know people who are upset cause they might lose their cashiers job like really? thats a shit job. The problem is thats the only work they have known and if those go away then they cant make money to live off of. So in the transition period between when governments actually implement people getting a flat living wage because machines have taken our jobs there will be a struggle. I dont recall which country but I heard somewhere there already is a place that has had so much automation the citizens just get a check every month from the government.

I really liked Kerblam! Probably because it felt like Who. Not that I'm against change or new ideas or whatnot, but it just all seemed to come together for that episode. The set design and everything was superb and as you said, everyone had something to do. This and the previous episode were when I started getting into the season more.

My personal take from the episode is the complex idea that as a society we have so intertwined technology into our daily lives. Our shopping habits have changed our high streets. The idea that it isn't technology that is the enemy but how we are shaping our own future by its use and by the choices we make collectively as a society. Automation is going to be the future and under the capitalist system where business leaders, "growth makers" "entrepreneurs" gig economy exploiters will have to be incentivised to make people related choices. I found it interesting that it wasn't saying that the technology or the company itself that was the antagonist's target, but in fact the public. WE have to be the ones to think about our long term interests in relation to a reduced work force in lots of market areas. Because big business seeking profits will not be concerned by the welfare of remaining 90%. It was the computer system that reached out for help. (My word that's very Doctor Who.) The trickle down effect is an erroneous fallacy which is in direct conflict with the reality of a system predicated on personal wealth growth and not personal growth. Now I think about it... A good 13 moment... "The system's aren't the problem, how people use and exploit the system, that's the problem." Graham's comment on terrorism and the dangers of an extreme ideology. "No that's what you're doing mate, seriously malfunctioning!" Oh I love Badley Walsh. (Law and Order UK is another show he shines in.) Maybe all of that, some of that or none of that was the intented commentary but that was my take on it.
