It's good that they introduced the Fugitive Doctor, it adds mystery to the series, because unfortunately, there weren't many of them left

2023-11-05 20:28:48 +0000 UTCI love this episode. It’s all about how the final execution is made once the storyline is resolved
2020-10-01 08:15:19 +0000 UTCBeen waiting for that captain jack reaction lol

2020-08-20 18:34:59 +0000 UTCBest Reaction😂Best Reactor😂
2020-04-30 00:51:58 +0000 UTCI adore this episode. An absolute 10/10. Jodie's run is following a similar trajectory to Sylvester McCoy's 7th Doctor for me... the very light first season, a second season in which there are shades of darkness... and I really hope that if she does a third and final season that it gets even darker and more insular like his 3rd season was. It really really worked for him and I hope it does for her too. (And Jo Martin was sensational). My theory is the between 2nd and 3rd Doctors theory, it makes the most sense to me completely, especially if you look back to Jon Pertwee in Spearhead From Space. It's like he's been through a huge trauma just before and it would work perfectly.

2020-02-20 00:53:37 +0000 UTCShe's been very anti-gun throughout her regeneration, though.
Mr K
2020-02-02 18:21:13 +0000 UTCI don't understand why jodies doctor got annoyed at ruths doctor for the gun. She gave gat the chance not to fire and gat chose to. How is that any different to Tim Shaw in the woman who fell?
YorkshireScott17
2020-02-02 15:29:02 +0000 UTCThe gun disintegration effect looks very similar to the teleportation. Just different colour. 😉
Mr K
2020-02-02 14:47:10 +0000 UTCCould be a good idea for a future story. All the havok the Doctor has unwittingly caused. 😂
Mr K
2020-02-02 14:45:54 +0000 UTCLoved this episode, full of energy and yes they might be changing a bit of Who history, but after 50+ years the stories can start to get a bit repetitive. I personally love the fact I have no idea where it's going for a change.

2020-01-31 15:40:38 +0000 UTCAbsolutely insane episode this. So many questions left to answer for the rest of this season! First black doctor aswell, even if she does turn out to be a doctor from another universe
Ryan Denoven
2020-01-31 11:10:19 +0000 UTCWhat because of one plot twist which hasn't been explained yet? Or are you counting making the Doctor a woman a 'participation medal'?
Matgo Styles
2020-01-31 09:25:48 +0000 UTCThis was the episode that made me realise I can't watch anymore. Being the Doctor used to be such a significant thing and now it feels like it's being handed out like a participation medal.
@WebSquirrel
2020-01-31 02:21:09 +0000 UTCI think Jodie would be a lot better with one companion. Three is too many to allow any actor to become settled into the role, especially (as with S11) without being able to rely on anything from the past.

2020-01-30 22:16:25 +0000 UTCI don't think this Doctor does like to carry guns - she's always using it as a trick, and if you look at the end when the Doctor points out she doesn't carry guns, she says "I know!" with a very "but don't tell the Judoon that, you idiot!" implication.
Paul Hayes
2020-01-30 20:51:51 +0000 UTCIf we're saying multiple Doctors at the same time point cause issues in universe then the events of the 50th anniversary episode could be a cause for problems.
Cooper Vision
2020-01-30 20:09:33 +0000 UTCSaid it well. I agree with this completely.
Cooper Vision
2020-01-30 20:08:31 +0000 UTCi was thinking that Ruth was the rani the whole episode and when she said she was the doctor, I instantly thought gat was the rani
Ward Junior
2020-01-30 16:44:55 +0000 UTCI have so many theories, we all caught up with who baby.
Ward Junior
2020-01-30 16:44:11 +0000 UTCI wish the show (and some fans) would drop the idea that the doctor never uses weapons, the doctor used weapons to threaten people often both on the old show and the new, and has even shot and killed enemies on the old show. It's not the first choice but has always been an option. And no reactor seems to have picked up on Gat literally telling us who Lee was before the Ruth reveal, "faithful companion".
Phillip Grischa
2020-01-30 15:44:16 +0000 UTCAre the companions actually needed this series?
Mr K
2020-01-30 15:06:17 +0000 UTCThere's a part of me that's always cautious about messing with the established history, but I'm also really excited to just do something with Jodie's Doctor. I'd rather them try some big ideas and fail, than do nothing and have a bland series (like how I felt about series 11). It seems like Chibnall is really drawing a lot of inspiration from the 7th Doctor's era. Back then, it was about the "Cartmel Masterplan" which was never fulfilled because the show was canceled. Now, Chibnall seems to be drawing some ideas from that with the idea of the Timeless Child and a more mysterious backstory for the Doctor. Not only that, 13 started out very cheerful and fun, but as her series goes on, she's getting a bit heavier and darker (like 7). Really enjoying the direction everything is going!
Trey Moore
2020-01-30 14:52:42 +0000 UTCRTD killed off the Timelords to simplify the show's backstory. Moffatt brought them back, but left the past alone (pre-8). Chibnall may be exploring that past. There have already been references in old Who to unseen incarnations, the Doctor working for the Time Lords between regenerations, and even the Doctor working with Rassilon and Omega millennia before One. I can't wait to see what they do next.
Stephen Ray
2020-01-30 13:53:17 +0000 UTCAnd I'm fine with that. Even if we only got a little Jack, next series when he's spotted on-set we'll already know why.
Stephen Ray
2020-01-30 13:46:07 +0000 UTCI've been seeing all these Lost references, and they were there again in this episode. Spoilers if anyone reading this is watching early LOST.......... So my thoughts are locked onto what happened in Lost, and Daniel Faraday's ideas. His certainty, in the beginning, that "whatever happened happened" and there only being one street and you can never make a new street, only move forward and backward. Then how he tried to subvert the future with the bomb, but that just became the "incident", which we can't know until the very last episode. Is Chibnall going to try to subvert that certainty here? Will we see another "street" and if we do, will there have to be an end to one or the other, because the paradox would shatter reality? Will it morph into something akin to "The Girl Who Waited" and one timeline has to go? Will we see how other universes can connect and become entangled because of the interference with the Kassavan (forgive my spelling.) Or will this be hidden pasts and deeds of one Doctor and one Master and there really is only one street you can travel backward and forward on? OH and with the Spyfall other reality, could that be what happens when the cybermen are all upgraded to their pinnacle of advancement?
2020-01-30 13:40:16 +0000 UTCI feel like The Doctor's gonna snap and have a mental breakdown this season. She's getting a lot darker.
Alex Cross
2020-01-30 13:26:08 +0000 UTCWhat an episode to catch up on! Now you can feel the excitement with us every week leading up to the finale. Fantastic watching you man
Jack Warren
2020-01-30 11:26:11 +0000 UTCIt's a good theory. My problems with it are 1) it relies too heavily on Classic Who 'fan lore' - that old belief that 2 didn't regenerate between War Games and Spearhead;which is just too non-canonical for my liking. 2) It means yet another 'Earlier Doctor we didn't know about'. Chibbs is basically just copying someone else's idea. On the other hand, the fact that RuthDoctors TARDIS is shaped like a Police Box means that she's either 'post Hartnell' (because we first saw it get stuck in that shape in a Hartnell story);or a 'alt universe' Doctor. Anyway, well find out.... eventually :)
Ian Smith
2020-01-30 10:52:11 +0000 UTCI'm calling it right now, btw. Doctor Ruth is a past Doc, erased by timelords and Lee was the Master, which is what he was all cranky about and The Doc has been gathering up companions because she subconsciously misses her original. And I'm probably way wrong. 😂 Not sure how the origin of her species ties in though. Or who the alliance is. Or what they sent through time. Don't think this will be fully felt with in just 5 more episodes or whatever is left, anyway. 🙂
Mr K
2020-01-30 09:53:02 +0000 UTCWhen I saw Ruth pick up the gun I thought it was The Rani, a Time Lady and long time enemy of The Doctor from Classic Who. Then when she said she was The Doctor, that's when my mind blew. I have a feeling we won't be seeing Jack again this series, because his reveal was a complete surprise, and wasn't spoiled anywhere. So he must have done very little filming. I think his appearance was setting up a return in the next series, but who knows with Who these days!
Matgo Styles
2020-01-30 08:27:22 +0000 UTCYou mean we had frog on a chair when we could've been having this all along? 😂 When they said "Faithful companion" I thought Doctor, but figured they'd never do that. 😂 Can't wait for more.
Mr K
2020-01-30 08:08:40 +0000 UTCAmazing reaction as always, to an incredible episode! I love how crazy this episode is, with so many twists! I can't wait to see what the rest of the season holds:) "Now it's time to get excited".

2020-01-30 07:56:44 +0000 UTC“You missed me right”
2020-01-30 07:40:30 +0000 UTCI know it's small but I don't like how she said "I am the Doctor"
Oliver Harrison
2020-01-30 07:35:14 +0000 UTCAdding to the multiverse theory, in Spyfall it was shown there was multiple earths. Now it was said it was multiple time periods but I have a feeling it might not just be that
Oliver Harrison
2020-01-30 07:32:17 +0000 UTCYou did it you have officially caught up
I have no name
2020-01-30 05:50:49 +0000 UTCLoved seeing you lose it over the return of Jack. From the moment I heard that voice. His return was long overdue. Yeah we missed ya Jack! In classic Who The Brain of Morbuis. Tom Baker's Doctor had a mind battle Morbius during which appeared faces of previous incarnations never before seen. It's been a long running question of were they really the Doctor? In my mind the faces represented the Time Lord Morbius previous regenerations. Is this Chibnall offering an answer? Like you said it may end up being a parallel universe Doctor. One last thing... this new Doctor cannot predate Hartnell's Doctor because the Tardis became stuck as police box during his era.
DinoX7
2020-01-30 05:43:16 +0000 UTCAnd something about it being her birthday I don't know if it has later implications or if it was just the fact that she was going to be revealed there I don't know. Absolutely the best episode of 13s run
2020-01-30 05:38:37 +0000 UTC1. Jack coming back was ruined for me but I still loved it. 2. I was thinking oh my God I can't wait till you get to watch this lol. literally lIhad to watch something else after this because I was so blown away loll
2020-01-30 05:34:49 +0000 UTCI find it crazy though that once Jo Martin became the doctor she owned that shit. In ONE episode. If Jodie had HALF those acting chops maybe this past season and a half would have been more bearable. I've always felt new who has never failed at casting the doctor. I don't think they actually even cast Jodie for the role Chibnall and Jodie have history and I think when they wanted him on board they basically just gave the role to Jodie. Shes doing better at it but I still not fully feeling her as the doctor.
Magus
2020-01-30 04:29:45 +0000 UTCMaaan this was a wild rollercoaster of STUFF! The theory i have become most attached to, if it IS out Doctor, is that she is a regeneration between 2 and 3. I go into more depth on that in a tumblr post I wrote, if anyone IS interested: https://rocker-by-heart.tumblr.com/post/190488212183/okay-lets-talk-about-that-episode-of-doctor-who
Lilly M.
2020-01-30 04:14:24 +0000 UTCHow great was Jo Martin? Absolutely amazing and engaging playing two seperate characters. If Jodie wants to leave after S13 I would be fully on board with a Jo Martin Doctor. I warmed to her straight away like I did Eclestone, Tennant & Capaldi. Matt took longer into S6 but Jodie finally feels like The Doctor to me this year though I must admit.
Jason
2020-01-30 04:00:36 +0000 UTCDid you spot all the clues to Ruth's true character. Many visual clues throughout the episode on a rewatch. The watch at the beginning was a clue. Her flat windows are exactly like The TARDIS windows on the exterior and she had a hexagonal mirror like The TARDIS!! All her kitchen stuff is blue like her kettle for example. Even her name "Ruth" is a clue as its hebrew meaning for Companion, Friend and "Clayton" is an English name for "Of The Earth" as Benjamin Cook put it "There's no greater friend or companion to planet Earth than The Doctor" Mind blown eh?
Jason
2020-01-30 03:37:03 +0000 UTCRegardless of what happens next, that was Doctor Who. Finally you get it Chibbers!! Edge of your seat stuff with shocks and surprises galore all with genuine threat and intrigue. That was bloody marvellous, so much I was giddy & my head hurt but bugger me am I excited! Everything about was superior to S11. I'm finally feeling Jodie and 13 why? Because they have added layers to her character. 13 in series 11 is a caricature compared to S12 Jodie and 13. Sadly it might be the last we see of Vinay Patel (also wrote Demons Of The Punjab) as he's hinted he wants to stop writing for other shows and make a Sci-fi show of his own, I'd watch it. What an amazing episode, it felt like a finale. Compare that to S11 finale! 😂
Jason
2020-01-30 03:29:42 +0000 UTCI had the exact same reactions watching this live. My whole family screamed when jack came on screen, and my brained was so fried after the whole other doctor situation. Can’t wait to see where S12 takes us 😍
Matthew Case
2020-01-30 03:26:27 +0000 UTCLoved this episode and your reaction. One thing that makes me sad about this one is Lee. He was basically Martha from The Family of Blood episode. He tries to protect the Doctor and then is killed. It is always rough seeing a companion die, even if he was in only one episode.
Patrick McMahon
2020-01-30 03:06:23 +0000 UTCOh god, the feeling of watching this LIVE at 3 in the morning where I live was the best decision I've made this year so far! Lmao. Bc being my impatient ass self, I tend to just go F IT GIMME ALL THE SPOILERS before i watched the whole episode, and i'm so glad i did it! The first reveal being Jack coming back was-- UGH I WANTED TO SCREAM WITH EXCITEMENT BUT PPL ARE STILL SLEEPING!!! akshaksksh but yeah, I cried silently on my bed instead lol then the second reveal with the Ruth!Doctor was mind blowing!? WHO IS SHEEEE??? Is she the Timeless Child? Ahhh AND THE LONE CYBERMAN? WHAT? WHAT? WHAAAT? everything was so overwhelming, so much to take in! I can't wait how they're going with this! I'm gonna try and watch the rest of s12 LIVE!
Siti Dee
2020-01-30 02:51:16 +0000 UTCOh I'm excited. I'll watch this after basketball game. I don't know if you have watched trial of a timelord but I think that's who ruth is the valeyard 😁
2020-01-30 02:48:08 +0000 UTCI feel like Who has been missing some major opportunity not using old characters. I don't know why they have no problem using classic who monsters but for all of new who it seems like they rarely want to use old show runners monsters, companions etc. Like other than the the 50th special this is what the second time a character from RTD era has come back? Its like the new runners don't wanna step on the toes of the new Who people who came before them
