Zellin really could've been used throughout this season. Maybe they'll bring him back for the next? Stopping powerful god-like beings within ten minutes doesn't really work and definitely misses a good opportunity. Having him as The Black Guardian, as was widely thought after the teasers, would possibly have worked better.

2020-02-12 21:36:27 +0000 UTCThis maybe a one time mention or a signal of what's to come. One can only hope we see The Guardians and their relationship to The Celestial Toymaker and Zellin.

2020-02-12 04:50:35 +0000 UTCI totally agree! This idea could have played out over one series or multiple series. A missed opportunity squandered on a one off episode. It could've been as epic as the Time War.

2020-02-12 03:52:43 +0000 UTC"If you want a plan come to me... choosing a plan that will work is the tricky part!" Jodie is channeling Tennant here and I like it!!! I maybe paraphrasing. Some heavy foreshadowing in this episode.

2020-02-12 03:46:34 +0000 UTCUpon first watch I can't say I really enjoyed most of this episode. It just felt very clunky on the delivery. I did however begin to feel more for Yaz. Finally, it's only taken over one and a half series. Listening to your reaction and then watching along at the end I warmed to it a little bit. I still feel however that the potential for a mind blowingly good episode has been missed here. It's very creation seemed backward from my perspective. This issue seemed to be the focus and the story felt tacked on to that original premise.

2020-02-11 18:53:51 +0000 UTCVery torn on this episode. Had some good ideas. It's great to finally get backstory on Yaz and seeing her and Graham open up about their fears was really good. It was good to see the companions opening up and reflecting on their thoughts. However, the resolution was so rushed. The villains were defeated too easily. It was lacking tension. We don't get enough of seeing the companions experience their fears through nightmares. Ryan's especially didn't work for me. And as good as mental health focus was in the end, the message felt so disconnected from the story. I wish we would have got Yaz's backstory sooner too.

2020-02-11 00:50:29 +0000 UTCImmortals are a classic Who thing. Eternals, the White and Black Guardians and The (Celestial) Toymaker were all from Classic Who and were referenced by Zellin. But Zellin and his friend aren't Eternals, he's just talking about them.

2020-02-11 00:18:28 +0000 UTCI really enjoy finally getting a look into our leads- seeing their worst fears envisioned and talked about is great. Just wish those cool Gods weren't defeated so easily!

2020-02-11 00:08:13 +0000 UTCDude, you're multiverse obsessed, you need help. π Liked this episode, though I did think it was Timeless Child related during Graham's vision, especially with the round things in the background. Loved the guy in black. Great presence and performance. Hope he comes back in the future. Wasn't such a fan of his friend. He seemed like he'd work better alone.
