Added 2025-02-15 08:40:00 +0000 UTCI believe this update doubles the amount of freeform dialogue.
v2 hotfixes:
- Fixed player portrait crash, when configured to appear on left side. Recommend playing on default, as it's untested.
- Recompiled in native code. Should improve performance.
Added Nanami to the list of interactable NPCs. You can now talk to her when free as you do with Yuri and Kari. She appears after clearing the Sleepover and working once at Cat-Cat, but her topics and sunset interactions only unlock after completing her story segment.
Added location based topics to discuss with Kari(park, cafe, school, home), Nanami(park, cafe, school) and Yuri(school). These vary greatly in length and quality. (i.e Kari at school has over 300 lines with a male and female variant, Kari at the cafe has just 30)
Shuffled around the locations a bit. Nanami will now be in Kari's usual spots, Kari will be in the newly repurposed classroom in the afternoon and the WC after class(if you've found her in the lab) or near the exit(if you didn't).
You now trigger Nanami's backstory through a dialog option, rather than just talking to her. She also won't go with you anywhere at dusk until you finish her event.
Changed the freeform dialog layout a bit:
Grouped all topics that are about the main cast into the "About..." option.
Other topics aren't grouped yet, but might get the same treatment if the amount increases.
Notable fixes and adjustments:
The needle doesn't count as an item for the purpose of leaving the void forest.
Increased cohesion gain cap to 3 per character per day.
c-alpha now removes all parasites, decontamination spray removes only Squidrabbit.
Added c-alpha recipe to the console accessed through the Woods.
Fixed a crash caused by petting the cat. Might not be the crash that everyone experiences.

You can expect the next gameplay update late April/Early May.
I aim to get at least one more event out before that.

2025-02-18 07:13:46 +0000 UTCThank you for the retrospective. It's always nice to read. I like the shutter sound idea. Maybe it's a good time to overhaul nameless NPCs. I forgot to hide that weather conversation. I'm not even sure I set up the facial expressions for it. It's supposed to be an interlude to trigger a trip to the beach, which obviously isn't done yet.

2025-02-17 16:34:18 +0000 UTCVery nice to see the invisible girl get her due dialogue :v Her lore is about as depressing as I was dreading after her line about buying new clothes is a much bigger issue than getting bullied back in the first conversation with her. Also she is very observant, her comments on both Kari and Yuri really help flesh them out by proxy. Like Kari being possessive is hinted at but just glaring murder at anybody even attempting to flirt at MC is funni in a slightly concerning way haha. Plus Yuri being rich was already pretty obvious but not that she might be lol private island tier, princess indeed. Nanami's words in the cafe when you order are especially telling about how hospitable the other branches of her family were when 'Everything has a price.' is the lesson she heard/learned. Gotta say I also love how the blue options have such differing flavours with each. With Nanami it felt like I just bought an old school fey a snack and now they feel obligated to repay me, if I would just take a moment to visit them in Arcadia, where the rain is rose water and the road is paved in gold :v Then we have Yuri in the library doing 'research' with doujins and citing by chapter the tropes Kari happens to play out haha, though the student council having so much confiscated blackmai- I mean evidence of privacy violations is also funny. You could maybe add a -shutter click- or something to the chatter pool for the none intractable NPC students littering the hallways, or a sound effect even now that it's an option. A little reference to MC being more popular than they suspect. Kari got a lot of love too this update. The main highlight is definitely the school drama club scenes, the male variant really blurs the line between reality and dream while the girl version could be straight out of a gb manga. Even in the best case where MC dodges yellow eyed Kari appearing they still get stuffed into a new outfit lol. Also taking Kari to the park for mushroom hunting is peak comedy. 'What do you mean you took me to this romantic spot for a non-romantic reason?!' 'Oh yeah, you wanted to turn back.' 'That mushroom that'd help you go back to not talking to me daily? I threw all 67 in the river!' If I had been drinking tea while playing here I would have had to wipe it off the monitor. That was Ranma1/2 Akane tier spite right there.
