Absolutely loved watching your reaction videos for death note! I think that the point of L's death could be that justice could be defeated but there will always be people who fight back for it, so if L was representing justice and then died, his successors would carry his will and thats hinted in Near's speech about how he realises now that L purposefully didn't choose 1 successor, Near couldn't have won without mello's intervention and mello couldn't have won without Near's strategic thinking, ofc mello died but his death like L's was to serve the ultimate purpose. I also like the idea of symbolism in Light dying halfway on the stairs as if his goal was to ascend to heaven but no matter what he couldn't reach the top and become god like he wanted. I agree with you that Light had a point in reducing crime but Near also had a point about how Light was a serial murderer with a god complex , when Matsuda shot him he immediately went to call him an idiot and when teru messed up he was thought of the same bcs truth is Light already thought of everyone as inferior to him he was literally throwing a tantrum by the end. All in all though such a great show and i'm glad you enjoyed watching it. It also great to appreciate such shows individually because they are different so you cant really compare them like you said.

I’ll be picking it up at the same time so will be good to hear someone else’s views on it too! I know you’ll be getting lots of suggestions, and maybe not necessarily for a react, but if you’re looking for something to watch, Cyberpunk EdgeRunners is great and I’ve been recommending it to my friends. Quite brutal and violent, but also has exceptional visuals, vibes and music and it’s only 10 episodes long so it’s good if you’re looking for something that won’t take an age to watch. (I’d also recommend dubs for EdgeRunners since it’s set in Night City and honestly the dub is exceptional, even if it’s just for Giancarlo Espacito (Gus from Breaking Bad)
