2023-01-28 10:50:57 +0000 UTCYes, but I mean at times when he should be nice, when others are going through problems (for example Kurisu and Suzuha with their respective parents) he always shows that he is concerned about them and tries to cheer them up through his foolishness. The reason he doesn't behave nicely before that is because he had no reason to do so, he hadn't had a chance to show it to the viewer yet. What I meant was that his behaviour seems rude because he's playing the role of a mad scientist, he's not like that, he's just faking his behaviour.

He uses that character originally for Mayuri, but where we meet him in episode one, it feels like the only warmness expressed through that character is aimed at Mayuri, and it isn't too much warmness at all.

2023-01-28 01:25:38 +0000 UTCActually Okabe has always been a nice guy, although from the beginning he seems to be a bit rude, he actually uses that "mad scientist" character, that he created, to be nice in an indirect way, remember that the beginning of that fake personality is to help Mayuri to overcome the death of her grandmother. I don't know if I've explained myself correctly, but in conclusion Okabe has always been kind and has always cared about the people around him, although he always does it by saying stupid things or acting like an idiot, if you rewatch the episodes with that in mind you will notice it, I needed to watch the series twice to notice it haha. So Okabe actually did say those kind words to Ruka.
