The dynamic between Edward and Alphonse is already great, and I love how expansive this first episode already teased FMAB's world to be. While it looks like the freezing Alchemist was only the first obstacle in our way, it seems like there are much larger threats to come.

FMA Brotherhood is really good. It's not my favorite (that's Steins;Gate) but it's definitely in my top 5 if not top 3. It's one of those shows that just keeps getting better and better as you're introduced to more of the plot and interesting characters.

This was one of the first anime I ever saw, I remember trying to do alchemy myself but it never worked :( But like you said, many things will be expanded upon, and all your questions will be answered in a satisfying way in this one.
