Pokemon is not considered shounen. Pokemon is not manga-based, but manga aimed at children are called kodomo manga, while shounen manga (like FMA, Demon Slayer, JJK) are primary aimed at teenager boys. Because of the popularity of shounen manga among all demographics, however, shounen magazines nowadays publish all sorts all works, including Chainsaw Man, AoT, Death Note, which thematically are more similar to seinen (adult male) manga.
