Squid Game 1x09 Reaction "One Lucky Day"

While I would've been totally fine with this season being a self contained story, I feel like they can go in so many different directions with Season 2 which makes it seem very promising. Anyway, loved this show! Let me know what you thought :)

Yeah I was thinking about that though. How does he even stand a chance? The moment he turns around they can probably have someone abduct or shoot him on the spot or at least follow him to a place where they can.

2022-01-19 16:24:54 +0000 UTCYeah nah that absolutely came completely out of nowhere and twisted the entire view I had of the old guy. But idk I guess I was very quickly able to just kinda go with it even though I understand that for others that might take longer or even not really be possible. Anyway, the friend I talked about who said he was mixed on the ending now clarified to me he'd rather it had been a standalone season. I can totally see that, but I'm very open minded to a continuation (provided they do it right obviously).

2022-01-19 15:35:50 +0000 UTCI think the people who didn't like the ending were soured on the old man twist, personally my problem with the reveal is that in my mind it retrospectively cheapens what I found were the most powerful scenes, namely his story with Gi-hun in episode 6. I think it is far more emotionally effecting if he was genuinely suffering from dementia. However, I think other than that once you sort of mourn for that understanding of the story I think it's perfectly fine, and the last episode is really good. Just a bit of whiplash if you didn't expect it

2022-01-19 15:05:33 +0000 UTCYup good point. I mean I already remember finding the whole moral speech the front man had in episode 5 kinda cringe lol. The activities of this organization are most definitely reprehensible in every way, one look at the VIPs can already tell you that too haha
