Your Name (2016) Reaction

I started off with "Your Name", a movie that was recommended by many of you and I figured the anime fanbase already here would be happy to see. Well, I think I ended up making a great choice because I thought it was a fantastic watch. I hope you'll enjoy! One last thing: I've been having a particularly hard time dealing with copyright for this video. This is already the 4th version I rendered but so far it's staying up on YouTube. If it does get taken down again though then you'll know why, and I'll make sure to reupload a fixed version as soon as I can.
Oh yeah and ignore the slightly different setup here with me sitting on the other side. I was experimenting with my room setup but decided to go back to the usual right after. So it's a one time thing for this movie alone haha.

Another anime movie recommendation is Redline. It is one of the most unique art-style wise, partly because they took 7 years to make 102 minutes of movie. Besides the visuals it is a good underdog story in a really crazy setting.

2022-02-11 02:43:57 +0000 UTCPleasantly surprised with you choice of ‘Your Name’! This movie for some reason resonated really well with me, probably because I enjoy sci-fi plot-lines and I might be somewhat of a romantic. And yes the direction and animation/art is truly unparalleled.

I used to casually watch only a few major anime shows when I was younger (Pokémon, yu-gi-oh, Naruto) and then I stopped watching anime completely for a good 5-6 years for no particular reason. Then in 2016 I came across a comment on the internet saying I should check out a movie called "your name" as it was really good. I watched it and it brought back my love for anime again ( it also made me wonder why I ever stopped watching anime). Just like how AoT was what got you hooked into anime, this movie was what brought me back in, so this movie hold a special place with me.

It's a beautiful story that has an anime series and two films, which are all beautifully animated. I'm really looking forward to your reactions to the movies you mentioned! They are all excellent choices :))

I don't have anything negative to say about it. The animation is beautiful, the characters are very likable, and the story is both shocking and very sweet.
