2022-07-05 18:54:36 +0000 UTCOh yeah he was definitely gloating, in the ep when ryuk tells him hey you can get the eyes now you know , light immediately got pissed off mentioning that he wont be cornered by the "likes of her" bcs he sees himself as someone superior to others so after his initial panic and when she fell in his trap he tells her sadistically that he is kira bcs he knows she cant do anything about it now. I feel so bad for her and ray , they both died with their killer laughing at them

2022-07-05 12:18:38 +0000 UTCCan't tell you how many times I've seen this episode, it's still just as good. I agree with you that he was kinda making fun of her at the end, he's obviously gloating. One of his main reasons for using the Death Note in the first place was because he was bored, life was too easy for him. He has always just gone through the motions without ever facing a challenge because he's too smart for people, but Naomi did become that challenge. The thrill of beating her is obvious and I think it makes perfect sense for his character to gloat. Light kinda has the "If you're not with me, then you're my enemy" mentality
