Added 2022-09-23 11:28:31 +0000 UTCMan... This episode was just devastating. I did not expect we'd ever be seeing Thorfinn turn into this. Thhen again, I realize it's probably necessary for him to hopefully eventually undergo the same growth process his dad once did.

Yeah Thorfinn just cloudn't let go of the village and his potential go for a duel and revenge on Askeladd. Telling that family to run was the most he could do not being fluent in English without kinda letting his chance go. His revenge is his most important thing.

I guess it still caught me off guard a little nonetheless not seeing him even care much for the damage he's causing, but you put it perfectly where he's just blinded by his mission.

2022-09-23 15:34:56 +0000 UTCMy opinion is that Thorfinn right now is just blinded by revenge against Askeladd and the death of Thors, therefore to achieve his goal he thinks the best way to get stronger is to get his hands dirty with blood. The thing is, Thorfinn is still very young (at the end of this episode he's 12 years old), and now his new "family" is a violent group of vikings so it's inevitable that his growth will be somewhat influenced by their behaviors and values. Like you said, I appreciate that this show is slow paced in character building and story development, you can see that the anime producers are really passionate about their work and adapting the manga the right way!
