When the kid talked about the wheat, it was actually a codeword to tell Lawrence, that they had someone who wanted to sell his/her pyrite. In previous episode, they talked about finding some merchants/shopowners who had bought in to the "hype" and wanted to sell their pyrite and get out of the whole ordeal, without having to sell in public on that "stock market". (and possibly cause damage to their reputation) And I don't think viewers/readers were intended to be able to figure out the whole plan, and realize that Holo was also trying to take down Amati. It didn't drop any clues towards it (except for the feathers) and instead did try to make it look like she had turned against Lawrence. We know how church tried to treat Holo. So dating a monk and the monk realizing that Diana probably wasn't a human could end badly. And that's probably why Diana is staying/hiding in a district of "outcasts" where law and church has less power.
