Basically for now you should think of Masayuki as Cid from Eminence in Shadow. They both equally have no idea what is going on and are just dragged along by luck (or the skill 'Chosen One' in Masayuki's case). Upon introduction, I believe the author intended Masayuki to represent common Isekai tropes as a random person who was selected to be a hero even though they are pretty incompetent. The author of Tensura had perfected the genre so much that he decided to make fun of other Isekais within his own well written verse.

2024-09-23 12:56:04 +0000 UTCIn somewhat random order: Yuuki is head of the Adventurers Guild, and as such would be in contact with a lot of adventurers normally, especially A-rank parties. Yuuki did mention Orthrus before, and said he wanted to give "him" something to do. Kagali said to Yuuki that he did come up with some interesting ideas. Otherworlders have a fairly high chance of gaining a Unique Skill. It was Words of the World who announced it. This Skill, though Unique, is a top-level, practically Ultimate level Skill, such that only Heroes can have them. Interestingly, it didn't say the Skill was acquired; it had been awakened. It has four parts to it; a lot of people limit it in their minds to being luck, but it has other aspects. This is a passive Skill, and it cannot be deactivated. Some people are unaffected by the Skill, usually if they have a Unique Skill or better.
