this one was ok, enjoyed it more than the previous episode but it also does feel like a filler episode. i've never liked when shows just play old clips, yea it's clever how they switched it up halfway through and it turns into Inception but i'm not sure it was worth spending a whole episode on that idea. best part hands down was frank's long legs LOL

2024-11-15 05:26:32 +0000 UTCyea that last episode had some funny moments but i also felt drained when first watching it. not necessarily because of the subject of trans bathrooms itself but how they went about it. like what i've alluded to in the past with the later seasons. it's subtle but makes a lot more sense when you know the context that mac/rob purposely listens to liberal mainstream news outlets like NPR (which he ideologically aligns with) in order to make the gang the opposite of what he thinks should be the correct social norms, or position on any given topic. once i found that out i began to notice it more. they will still poke fun at both sides moving forward but many times there's this heavy-handed approach where it's palpable there's an agenda or bias one way. and often times when the gang is saying something meant to show how ignorant they are, i usually end up agreeing with them lol it also doesn't help that the episode wasn't that funny. just last season the hero or hate crime episode was similar in that it was a bottle episode in one room mostly where they were having somewhat similar controversial social discussions...but it was hilarious.
