No Game No Life: Zero Movie Reaction [Exclusive Request by floxer]

Here we are officially finishing the No Game No Life journey and what a way to do so! It actually took me a little bit to notice the eery similarities between the characters of this movie and those of the main show, but when the realization kicked in I only loved it all the more. I hope you'll enjoy my reaction!

might be late in commenting this. But there's an interesting pun in the character's name. Sora=Sky - Riku=Earth Shiro=White - Schwarz (Schwi)=Black

Ahh thanks for the extensive explanation man! I need to get back into chess haha

A few things to mention. Sora and Shiro aren't actually related by blood, Shiro was adopted when she was like 2 or 3 or something. The massive floating tree thing is actually Avant Heim, which is a type of Phantasma. The flugel live on it since it's friendly to them. It's basically like a sentiant floating island or something. But the point is is that it's alive (or at least alive enough to be consisered part of the Exseed). Also perpetual check is a tactic in chess where you force your opponent into an infinite move cycle, usually via check (hench why it's call perpetual check, non check variants would just be a perpetual). There's a rule in chess that if you repeat a position 3 (at 3 you're allowed to claim a draw) or 5 (at 5 times a draw is mandated) times, the it's determined that there isn't any meaningful progress being made, and that the game is a draw. A classic example would be putting your opponent into check, to which they only have 1 legal move, putting them into check again, where they only 1 legal move back to their original square, and then you can just force that sequence forever. Now usually its a lot messier, like instead of going back and forth between 2 squares, maybe you have to chase the king around the board forever, or in higher elo cases, it's not check, but just being forced into a worse position (this is how grandmasters draw when they don't want to actually play). It's a way for a player in a worse position to steal a draw from a loss, since you can force the game to never end (and thus never lose).
